I'm not going to lie I remember watching a 10 hour gameplay (no commentating) of TLOU2 and I specifically watched the last scene well past 1 am, and the ending was just extremely sad. The story made sense to me considering it takes place in a post apocalyptic world where there are cannibals (first game), a lack of hope, etc. The game may not be as air tight as the first, but it ultimately achieved the goal set out by Neil that it would be an exceedingly depressing game.
Hopefully the cast of The Last of Us Part II are reminded that bloody vengeance will not be carried out on this island. Unless you want to get back at Tom Nook....
