I went thru a transformation build of of drag slash from a 2wd older slash. I finally completed it. There were alot of headaches that went with the build. Put bandit rear control arms with the new shorter turnbuckle. Also installed the front slash drag front control arms. Non of the original screws worked. With all the back and forth to the hobby store. I finally came to terms...your better off just buying a drag slash ..which I did. For 299.00 it all complete with motor and esc with a controller. Penny wise I suggest if your jonzing a drag slash..just buy one and save money and time. So I have 2 one I built as a conversion and one out of the box complete. It runs pretty straight right out of the box.
I was wondering about this project, a friend n me were just talking about this the other day n was wondering about it n boom here it is! We’re ur ears ringing lol! Was just talking about it n now it’s up a couple days later, ur making us wanna build one of these projects
Excellent tip. I have a couple of sets of snips and have used them for RC projects before. But they are in my garage toolbox and I would have had to walk like a whole 20 steps to get them this time. LOL
GREG PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT! I can’t wait til u mount that hot racing sway bar kit, cus I have one n have no clue on how to mount it, no directions n every video online is someone’s different way of doing it, n none of them r hot racing on the 2wd lcg chassis so please be therow on how to do it, it will help a lot of people!
I just upgraded some parts on my slash recently, this looks pretty interesting, I can't wait to see what wheel and tire combination you're going to use.
One of the changes I made to my 2wd Slash and Rustler builds was to change the caster blocks to the ones that came on the nitro version of Rustler and Slash. These move the bearings into the wheel hubs and keep the shafts stationary. Does it make a difderence performance wise? No clue, but I like the setup better as a personal choice.
I really enjoyed the video. I got one someone had already started. But dint do such a good job. I took it over and added some vinyl to the body. Now I don’t know what to do ppl love it and tell me not to run it.
Yeah your vids are cool you do enough Montage to keep it Rollin but you tell us a lot of good information too by the way I bought a two-wheel drive slash yesterday.. brushless. It's the VXL but I didn't get the t c s so I may upgrade my controller soon
I took notes from your build thanks. But my rear wheels won’t spin after 1 day out. My gears are fine the pins are in place. The motor and gears spin and the wheels spin a little when lifted in the air but on the ground just the motor spins. HELP WHAT DO I DO?!
This all looks familiar cus I just built a track slash with all parts from hot racing, strc, proline, traxxas, rpm parts it was over $1k to build but there’s not one part on it that’s not upgraded down to the bearings n stainless steel hardwear, I know I could bought a rtr but I wanted to build something that was made after the dream slash I had in my head, it came out epic!
Is this for real🤔. I like your channel but when I watch any build I dont want to see your face. I want to watch the build. “Im going to attach the cervo to the column” and I see your face and still have no idea how to do it. Good for you.
Awesome video!!! These longer vids are great.👏👏👏 I can't wait to see the end result. 👍👍
They take so long to make lol. Glad you enjoy them!!
Your biggest problem is going to be heat from the higher kv
Man I love watching these old build videos great stuff

Waayyy cool low budget drag car
I am a little late but great series!
This is actually the only video of yours I HAVEN'T fallen asleep watching out of maybe a dozen. Probably due to lack of music.
YES! Finally a build video!!

Two words to make you bumper chop easier. Tin Snips. 👍

RCDriver_Online oh I see. That’s just a bridge too far. Lol
Love this build
When I reached the end and you said this is a long video I didn't even notice because of how good and explained the build was done
Very good video showing how to do a conversion!
Awsome vid that slash is gonna be so cool

Aluminum steering blocks are a must. After you break a few plastic ones you get tired of it.

Could you please do a drag car from a bandit, without a lcg slash chassis. 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

For the nine people that disliked this video you don’t know what fun really is
I actually run my shocks full of olive oil, it works surprisingly well, and it’s cheap or free coz most people have it in their houses
We need to talk about that Makita drill that you're using😎
Yeah your vids are cool you do enough Montage to keep it Rollin but you tell us a lot of good information too by the way I bought a two-wheel drive slash yesterday.. brushless. It's the VXL but I didn't get the t c s so I may upgrade my controller soon
I had a lcg chassis like that once and it messed up my steering and I could never turn right. Plus I liked the higher ground clearance
DirtRiderBen Did you make you sure your servo was in the right position, and set straight?
@@goldsrcracing5950 yeah. I even had a shop help me look at it and we never found what was wrong
Great, informative video. Just a suggestion, I think you or maybe I missed some part numbers.
*****I meant to ask for a list of part numbers maybe in the last video. Thank you******
Part 2 Finally!!
Can you put sway bars on these lcg chassis?
Wow you used 80wt in the front?
if you have the swar bar kit on your old slash.. will it fit on the lcg ?
new sub here!
