Inside his room, Mikhail Andreevich Romanov, now known as Tsar Mikhail II, the Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russians, walked around his room, his heart full of unease. How did it come to this? A royalty descendant living peacefully in Australia, somehow forced to be the leader of Chita, and now the leader of the entirety of Russia? Despite his unease, Mikhail II couldn’t help but feel grateful for the advice and understanding given to him by Vladimir Kirillovich, his distant cousin who, too exhausted to lead Russia after a bloody war with General Batov’s forces, agreed to step down and let him take the throne. The Tsar finally stopped walking and took in a deep breath. It was time, for him and all the Russians. He opened the curtains and finally stepped out to the balcony. He was in awe of the sight before him. God Save a Tsar was blaring loudly, the cannons boomed again and again for his glory, and tens of thousands people cheering for him. Once again, after a long while, the Tsar smiled. He didn’t choose this life, but he also wasn’t a quitter, and this was his reward.
