That box art for the Japan release was sick, it's sort of a throw back to the SA2 logo. Can't believe they thought people wouldn't want that internationally.
Why would sega spoil their entire game? Them only showing 3 stages is good because for generations they only showed 2

Hopefully it would be cross-platform and not JP-exclusive
The apprehension fans have towards criticizing Sonic games probably stems partly from the fact that Sonic Team has a history of learning the wrong lessons. I'm not saying this applies to every instance that criticism is seen as a bad thing PERIOD, but I'm saying it's only recently that Sonic Team seems to be carefully responding to peoples' input in a way that has proper direction and awareness.
One potential stage they may add is dusty desert or wave ocean which could be in the kingdom valley level just like the colony ark transition to radical highway.
White Acropolis would make more sense as wasn't that Shadow's first stage in that game?

Generations is surprisingly missing a Snow Level so White Acropolis would be good.

This makes me a little mad, since some people don't like sonic getting criticized because it can feel excessive, nitpicky, and purely off of preference based on gameplay style when that can be unfair depending on the game. And also who would willing what to hear someone complaine about a game you like and don't really have anything bad to say about especially as a kid.
Like I get it frontiers isn't perfect, I think the combat could use refinement and maybe an overhaul system wise, but it's the way you say it that doesn't seem excessive. And I have seen the sonic show when kishimoto was taking in suggestions and it felt like it was in good fath on both sides.
If people can complain about the game, then I think it fair for people to question whether it's legitimate and worth getting upset over.
it's why 'nitpicking' is always fine as long as it's done in a respectful manner. Sonic team want the game to be great like we do

Sonic fans are critic adverse due to the historically terrible relationship critics themselves have had with the franchise. Be it dropping terrible scores on games considered good by the community, or the worse angle, hyping up games that are really bad. A lot of critics are totally out of touch with the community and often mock and denigrate the fandom.

One thing I hope they do fix is A.) Fix the Ring animation. And B.) Fix the homing attack especially please. And C.) Add more obstacles and hazards in the game.
Some fans don't like it when people criticize because they think Sega will learn the wrong lesson from the criticism. Like when people said they didn't like how serious 06 and Shadow's game's stories were so Sega started making stories that viewed Sonic as a joke. Or when people complained that Sonic Frontiers was too easy so they made the DLC extra hard.
I'm thinking that the only other games we could get levels from are Shadow, Rivals, Battle, or Black Knight. Those are the only games Shadow has a big role in not represented yet.
They could squeeze in Asteroid Coaster as Shadow was there in the DS version of Colors.

The game may be during sonic gens, but you gotta remember this is time travle, with a stage from 200 years after gens canonicly showing up in the base game. They could totaly do forces

i wish they could bring cryptic castle from shth. ever since mystic cave from sonic 2 ive always been so passionate about horror-themed level in sonic games, and i feel like the last time we got that is probably sonic lost world (team sonic racing had one with king boom boo in it but it was a racing game so...)
I would love to see the mystic mansion stage from sonic heroes again
That box art just does show how Sonic and Shadow are their own Ying and Yang, it's nice they included it there
It's a stretch but they could likely bring in another Sonic 3 level to tie into his origins, likely Hidden Palace zone,
Or a stage from Sonic Battle and or Sonic Advance 3 since we know Emerl's going to be in the game.
2:50 But the time eater (i hope that’s the correct name) brought classic sonic to stages from the future (modern stages). So maybe Shadow is gonna see stages from the future too!
The one thing I don't like about the look of shadow's levels is how there is a 'halo' effect for the lighting of his model and a lot of parts of the stages, it just looks bad to me personally. That's probably my only issue with it.

Idk, i just hate how the PS4 version isn't getting much in favor of the PS5 version.
One thing i hope they do is allow Modern Sonic and hopefully Classic Sonic play through Shadow's stages like they did in Forces

I would love to know WHY Japanese game devs are STILL doing that thing where the Japanese box art is not the same as the international box art. Why can't we just have the box art be the same across all releases?
That'd be down to focus testing and industry trends aligning one way or another. A lot of Western game boxes are very subdued. Whereas Japanese games boxes really try to go for a cool cube. Just confirming to what the local market expects.
The way SEGA markets things in Japan is different than the West. Japan prefers more mature and serious stuff so the boxart is changed to accommodate for that.
@@Unleash_YT I'm not just referring to SEGA, I say this about every Japanese game developer & publisher; Platinum, Nintendo, Capcom, Konami, etc, they all do this and it always results in the Japanese release getting the better box art

I already pre ordered the digital deluxe version and now there’s a physical version with the best box art I’ve ever seen?…. Dang it
00:00 Hold the phone! What is that in the background? Is that the space colony Ark way, way back there? On a level that is supposed to be Final Chase, the context being that Shadow is racing to try and stop someone (Sonic) from reaching the Eclips Cannon. Which is supposed to take place on the underside of the Ark, leading towards the cannon. With towers sticking out of the bottom of the Ark as set pieces and not free floating several thousand miles away in open space.
How does that make any sense!?
I get that they want to use the space colony as a set piece to show off, but they could have shown it then zoomed into where shadow starts at in relativity to the canon.

Glad they aren’t showing everything, they shouldn’t show everything. Plus the demo even mentions space colony ark ACT 1 meaning there’s gonna at least be ACT 2 for every zone. I’d be down for a black knight stage or colours, (shadow does make an appearance in colours on the Ds, probably won’t happen but it be cool)
Bullet Station sounds bad? Dude they turned it into a kickass dance remix, and i'm saying this as a Heroes fan.

On a different topic Ian Flynn was kinda right because 2 years ago on his podcast he said Sonic Team could bring a character back if they want to use them. In Sonic X Shadow Generations they brought Black Doom by using the Time Eater. So they could bring back Mephiles and Infinite if they want to use them. Kishimoto did say they could bring those two back. I will keep asking Sonic Team to bring those two back.
I’m also getting the physical copy but for my switch Bringing in forces levels would be kinda cool and infinite I I kinda want to see roundhouse kicking infinite again and some levels from episode shadow and Mephalise i really hope shadow takes off his inhibitor rings kinda like he did in 06
Personally I think both box arts are equally good. I don't prefer one over the other.

I wouldn’t necessarily dismiss stages after Generations coming because the time eater takes Sonic to the past but he might take Shadow to the future as well🤷♂️
the spines not clipping his arms is probably about on the same level of animation polish as unleashed, where pretty much every frame of animation had a way to go into a jump and flow into each other super smooth. 06 was kinda like this too with mach speed sonic leaning so far forward his shoes would kick up to one of his quills and give it a little bump in the way it was poked, but then the rest of 06 was 06 so bleh.

I was always going to get the physical edition of the game because I prefer physical copies to digital ones.
That fact that fans thought that there was gonna be an only 3 stages in the game just shows you how brain dead they are. It was obvious that there were more than 3!!!! 😂 we haven’t been shown a shadow the hedgehog levels yet. Also, they’re not gonna show the whole game are they bc that would extinguish any excitement and curiosity.😅

I wouldn’t mind some Sonic Rivals levels, or even some Sonic Battle levels, of course a bit more work would be necessary for the Battle stages, but it wouldn’t be impossible. Maybe Club Rouge, Battle Highway, or Chaos Ruins, or Holy Summit would be some interesting level themes. Honestly I just want to see Battle get some love, and considering Emerl is playing a part in the prologue, it isn’t impossible.

My problem with the Japanese box art is that Classic Sonic/Santiago isn’t on it. It doesn’t as well represent the collection as the US cover. Even if the Japanese box art looks better.

Glad I preordered the physical version, can’t wait to change the art box once it releases ☠️☠️☠️. Also glad they confirmed that there’s more stages. I still think we might get five or six, especially if the other two are transition lvls of bullet station n kingdom valley but I’m still cool with it. The only stages I imagine would be added is:
A stage from Shadow the Hedgehog.
A stage from Rivals 1 and/or 2.
One or more stages from one or a few repeating games.
And a Forces stage as non-canon bonus content.
Since Emerl's been referenced there's a chance there could be a stage from either Sonic Battle or Sonic Advance 3. It's a stretch though...
@@supersonicmario56 Yeah, Sonic Team would need to get really creative for a Sonic Battle related stage. Since those are small simple arenas with not much in theming. Aside from maybe the wireframe level.
As for Advance 3, that’s even more of a stretch since it has more to do with Gemerl than Emerl.

Nitpicking is perfectly valid. 'Death by a thousand papercuts' applies to *alot* of Sonic games. These small issues defenders _think_ are insignificant, *add up* and have been dragging down the franchise for _Years_ .
