They said 'supportive' bond between 2 'sisters' I think they meant there aren't that many depictions of family being supportive of each other. It's usually toxic (intentionally or not).
@@damkylan3 I think you missed the mark a bit I wasn't referring to platonic relationships being rare at all. definitely a sisterly bond over a ship. i could see loona being a good big sister, as she was octavia's age when she got adopted. loona probably sees a lot of her younger self in via. you can tell that by their interaction in ep 2 since the advice she gives comes from a place of understanding and empathy. i want to see more of their dynamic because seeing loona's asshole exterior diminish when she finds someone she can empathize with seems crucial to her character development
yes! and also I remember that cute moment in the Verosica episode, when she had a crush. Not only did her tough-rough persona disappear, but also she was talking to Blitzø like to a real dad. And these cute puppy eyes she had when she looked at her crush… I guess that was the first time you could see the soft Loona, and, well, understand that she exists
Loona obvs has issues being touched. She smacks Blitz whenever he tries to. Or flat out blushes when Tex had his hand on her shoulder briefly. So I still like that she lets Octavia hug her. Sure she goes right back to her "dont freaking touch me" bubble afterwards but it was still sweet in a sisterly way
I also think that as they were basically alone together at the observatory, Loona didn’t need to worry about anyone seeing her ‘let her guard down’ in regards to physical contact, so it was safe to let Via hug her, and once being hugged by someone who has similar family issues, she realized she needed it too. plus, as she was talking with Via, she was realizing that she had a lot of the same problems with her dad as she herself does, both have what the other needs, they both need friends, and they can have that in each other, as each truly understands what the other is going through, and I’m sure Loona didn’t expect to feel the ‘I’m a big sister’ feelings she’s getting for Via Big ‘Sisters’ vibe developing here.
Exactly, she blushed at Tex touching her, but Octavia? Not at all. They’re sisters, your honor. Loona clearly sees a connection to Octavia and allowed the hug on that ground too.
Most of the time classism is shown with romance, but exploring classism through step sisters just seems novel. Octavia is a Goecia. Loona is a Hellhound. The class gap between the sisters seems like it'd be interesting.
I was literally thinking about that! Considering how badly Stella views her husband banging an imp, imagine how she sees her daughter simply having a conversation with a hellhound. Hellhounds are shown to be a much lower rank than imps, so... yeah, to say Stella wouldn't take it well would be REALLY sugarcoating it.
@Res Publica no, not really. Cinderella in most iterations was kinda born in the same social standing as the sisters, but because they didn't want to pay for a maid, decided to reduce her role despite the riches her and her father had.
I agree that Loona and Octavia have a sisterly bond, with blitzo calling them 'our daughters' and their dynamic felt a lot more like a sisterly bond rather than romantic, since octavia is a minor too it's weird shipping her with Loona and the fact it's weird to ship them when their dads kinda have a romantic relationship.
@@censoredhysteria I can't imagine how your parents must feel with you thinking their five year age gap is gross even tho they'd be well past of age lmao.
Yes, I just love to see them interact with each other. If someone sees them as couple it is fine for me too as this is their own interpretation on two fictional characters…I saw a lot of people saying things like they are just sisters/friends in a tone like they are absolute correct and other interpretations are wrong and problematic, and this is not okay, just let people enjoy things as long as it does not cause any actual harm to people in real life
It's funny how Loona's problem with the episode was how she wasn't a people person and was too aggressive to clients, yet she was able to show this towards Via she's pretty easily
It could be with Blitz and Stolas meddling with it so, they meet up and keep up hanging out despite the situation, with Stolas and Blitz probably watching from afar. At the end, Loona realize they bond well, she shares her phone number with Octavia and then the parents come to pick them up. Then later on in the season, they can bring it up as a sign to show that they have been getting to become friendly with each other.
@@itsmargi5076 my preferred scenario is Stolas, Blitz and the Ms setting up Octavia's birthday celebration, and Loona acting as decoy/mentor and finding people to invite. Like say, Vortex. (and maybe Charlie and Vaggie but that's reaching so hard). The focus being on Loona and Octavia interspersed with scenes where the rest have to figure out how to set up a Goth/punk/emo birthday party. And at the end of the episode, Octavia gets her own Grimoire. It could even be a two parter. One episode the set up, the second the party itself. ...yes I basically stole this from an episode of Phineas and Ferb, why do you ask?
I still need to catch up on the series, but I think I'll agree with this comment once I do so; sometimes the chemistry and time together itself is the prize.
Honestly and personally I don't care if it stays as platonic sisterly vibes or turns more on the romantic side, I just love their interations and duo energy!
I see them only as sisters because it just makes more sense to me. Loona is canonically straight also so there’s that too. Octavia just really needed a big sister at that moment and Loona is perfect because she can see that she needs a positive female friend.🙂😊
@@kinuuni I'm not here to start a argument or whatever but she seem to be canonically straight. Nowhere it's said that she isn't or that she's bisexual or any other sexuality, even if it's true that both Mixxie, Mollie and Blitzø aren't straight but had/have straight relationships it doesn't mean it apply to everyone.
What I love most about their dynamic is that they get along right away. It doesn’t sound like much, but teen/young adult girl characters are often pitted against each other before they become friends (if they become friends).
you had me in the first half not gonna lie, but i like how they gave them a bonding moment. Before Octavia stole the book, blitz was telling luna to be nicer to the clients and all that jazz, and here she is, being nice. Octavia needed this too, because her own father wasn't listening to her and she finally had someone listening to her.
I think there was a BIG reason that they didn't have Loona _or_ Via blush at all during their meeting. This show is very blatant about blushing and attraction being correlated with each other. So if someone's not blushing, they ain't feeling the romance, chief. I'm down to see these two be a sisterly pair with a strong bond, giving each other that comfort and support they lack and can't get from their dads.
Yeah same, this shown isnt like spy x family where blushing could mean excitment and happiness or surprise, this show the blush is attraction romantic and sexual
I think it’s more implied of them having a sisterly bind. Even with Blitzø saying “our daughters” to Stolas. They run parallels which make them relate to one another. Just because two characters can empathize, doesn’t mean they need to be romantically involved lol. Keep them as sisters, seeing Loona step into that role was awesome.
@@alherx999 ok, so the og commenter said "to each their own" meaning "leave them be" in the case of a love relation between sibblings. A really bad advice if you have common sense. Hope i explained it well enough for yee
I do think that they’ll be fantastic friends/sisters. Both of them needs someone who *gets it*, and they found that in each other. If the show ends with Stoliz, obviously Blitz and Stolas aren’t the most emotionally stable people in the world, so Loona and Octavia would no doubt naturally be leaning on each other a little bit. I’d love to see Loona do what Blitz did at the pound/adoption agency. I think Loona sees herself in Octavia and wants to help, just like Blitz did for her. Not because she wants to pay her father’s kindness forward, but because that’s who she is under all those layers of hostility. I’d like to see them hang out in a more casual setting as well. Two goth girls shopping at Hell Topic and Stylish Occult. Just friends/future sisters hanging out because the other one just gets it, you know? It’s definitely not romantic, it’s just a “yeah, I know exactly how that goes. Let’s navigate our screw up dads together, ‘kay?” dynamic.
Loons channeling Big Sister energy gives her a much needed extra layer. I’ve always liked characters that are normally a mess, who end up having to get mature for the sake of someone else, even temporarily.
When I saw that shot, I did think, "oh, some people are going to ship these 2 together," but I did see it as a sisterly moment. Loona was giving off *big* big sister energy during the conversation and I'm here for that. I can see there being an episode (maybe not in the season, my Hope's are not too high for that) or just a scene where someone's like, "wait, where's Loona?" And it cuts to Loona and Octavia having a girl's day or something.
If if wasn't for the ages I'd absolutely ship them, but as someone who also grew up very socially isolated till my late teens/early 20s albeit with a better family situation, I think and know from experience that it would make absolute sense for Octavia to develop a crush on Loona We've never seen her with friends and when you grow up without those sorts of attachments, you tend to throw yourself at the first person who treats you with kindness at when you hit 18-20, thinking it's romantic affection because you've not learned the difference between platonic and romantic love. And this could work if handled RESPONSIBLY; they're friends for a while, Octavia admits her crush, Loona rebuffs her because of the age gap and helps Octavia to realise what happened and helps her heal from it so theres no awkwardness between them and they can remain friends. But this will only work if they don't end up dating later down the line, even after Via turns 18 because that would be an even worse situation (and a word I can't say on RUclips without the banhammer bonking me). What WOULD work is if all of the above happened, and Loona took on more of a big sister role and wingmanned Via into a relationship with someone her own age. Plus think of the adorable double dates!
Honestly, I saw it . And it might go that way , but I also saw it as them becoming more like sisterly friends (witch judging from there lives they do need very much) And hopefully actually sisters in law . I am not saying I won't ship it if it happens, but would preferred it I they stayed just good friends
Evain if they do get together romantically somehow Ile still say they are just "very good friends" because we all know there's know sutch thing as a romantic relationship between gals they are just pals really /j (obviously)

Let’s just let people enjoy! I really dislike when someone say I ship Character A and B, someone just go down and comment “umm actually they are just friends cuz their interaction in the show is not lovey dovey”, this is just so inconsiderate tbh, if you don’t think these two characters should be a couple then it is fine, but you don’t need to tell this to the ones who think so(and even acting like you are the correct one), this is just straight up impolite

Personally, I think it'd be really fun to explore a one sided crush here. Like, Octavia gives me the vibe that after this interaction she might fall hard for Loona, and it'd be fun to explore how someone as ungraceful as Loona tries to let down this child who's clearly into her (with Loona never entertaining the thought of a real relationship for some obvious reasons).
I love both Loona and Via so much. I’m super excited they’ve finally met and to see their relationship grow in any and all all forms, whether it’s romantic, best friends, family, all the above, Ect.

I don't see an romantic tension between and never did I only see a sisterly bond and I hate how every love gets seen as romantic when love has a spectrum self-love, platonic love and romantic love and I think there might be a few more types of love.
I feel like it’s more of a sisterly bond when you think about it, it’s pretty clear Stolas and Blitzo still have feelings for each other and if they got to together in a more romantic way than it would make sense that Loona would have a big sister role for Octavia
I really enjoyed their moment together. My sister and I are 8 years apart and for a while I thought maybe we could be super closer but I realized that she wasn't who I expected so seeing this sister bond is nice to see, I wish I had that.
I like that not every relationship is a sexual one or a romantic one. Helluva has a great bunch of characters! And I love that luna and via can have a strong big sister-little sister bond, I think this is what they need. Like how blitz wants to shelter and care for luna so she doesn't have to go through the same thing he did, luna is being caring and helping via just like a big sister should! I love it, it makes me think of me and my sister! She a goth so it works 😆
Being an older sibling myself. I always saw there meting as an advise from an older sib kind of thing. Even if Blitzo and Stoles never get there acts strait and get "Officially" together, they are still "siblings". Love your work and can't wait to see which ship you take on next.
I WAS ABOUT TO BE SO UPSET JUST SEEING THE TITLE But hey, you successfully tricked us! I'm really happy you went over the parallels of these two characters, and how naturally they just connect. As a big sister, I really love seeing these sisterly bonds in stories. I think found family is SUCH a powerful theme especially where it's in the context of literally Hell where everyone is basically at each other's throats. They aren't sisters from birth, but they choose to be, and that's fucking beautiful.
I bet you if people talk enough about shipping them, there’s going to be another moment where all the characters look at the camera, judging the viewer for even considering the idea.
I can’t help but agree with the aesthetic like he said at the beginning. But I just love their familial bond. I feel like that’s even more rare than a good ship.
As an only child, I have no context for what sisterly love looks like. I was just like "ah, a really well written heart-to-heart. This will surely lead to romance."

@@dove2826 There is absolutely something fucking weird with a 22 year old dating a 17 year old. 5 years may not seem like much, but it's how old and how young which is what actually matters. Would you want a 18 year old to date a 13 year old?
It's a 17 year old teenager and 22 year old adult. The younger people are, the bigger the age gaps matter. A 35 year old and a 40 year old is fine, but a 13 year old and an 18 year old is awful.
I honestly think they have a sisterhood going on. Like they always will look out for each other, pick each other up when the other falls. It really makes me happy how Octavia and Luna seem to get along on a sisterly level❤
I would like them to have a Sisterly bond cause both can relate from their own problems and know how to respect each other, despite them having different personality.
That's the internet for ya. It takes 2 people looking at each other for a few seconds and boom. People go bonkers. But yeah. It was more sisterly than romantic because of the 5 year age gap. I know lots of people loved the Stolitz moments but I prefered this scene between Loona and Octavia due to the fact that they have little to no interaction with each other. I could definitely relate to it due to the fact that I have a sibling myself. I hope we get to see more interactions between them down the road.
I personally see them as siblings, but whether they become a thing or not, I just want them to stay in each other's lives. It cannot be overstated just how much they need one another in times like these where there's so much family drama. They can look to each other for comfort and that's really all they need.
their sisterly bond, the fact they were finally introduced to each other and could talk comfortably to each other about their issues made my depression a little less worse

I can see them becoming a couple like their fathers and be more sweet, but at the same time I know they will probably become just sisters with i don't mind and i'm looking forward to it. I just want them to have any type of relationship between eachother
The next episodes should be about how Moxxie and Millie first interact with each other and the leading of their love. And maybe an episode of how Blitzø and Verosika first started getting into a relationship, and their decline. Did Blitzø have something that made Versika liked him in the 1st place?
Verosica was in rehab with Blitzo's sister. That's probably how they met. Rich, famous, but vulnerable. Also a succubus. They dated. She started to get attached, he panicked and ran.
I PRAY this remains as just a sisterly bond and nothing more. Seriously can two people in this show have a deep connection, outside of Loona and Blitz, that's purely platonic?
I've been waiting forever for these two to meet, and the older sister, younger sister dynamic is exactly what I had hoped for. very well written and exactly what both of them need.
Loona has such strong big sister vibes in that scene, I loved it. The glow from the eyes definitely weirded me out for a moment when I first watched the episode though, before I realized what it was. I was thinking of commenting on that just before it came up in the video. I didn't realize there was such a big age gap between them, I thought Loona turned 18 just before the pilot episode, but apparently her adoption wasn't as recent as I thought. Even if their ages were closer, it's kind of weird that some people ship 2 characters who had a single conversation together. Even if there had been romantic undertones, it was literally their only interaction. Plenty of people seem to have chemistry between them on their first meeting that's only based on an initial attraction, but it ends up not working.
I always saw it as a friendship, not ever a relationship. I thought them being together wasn’t what either of them would be ready for as they BOTH don’t know what a good relationship is. Them being together never sat right with me personally.
At first I saw it as a romantic relationship (I constantly forget that Loona is a literal adult already) but I think the sisterly bond would really work well for them. Whatever their relationship is, I want more of it
Honestly I want it to stay a sister situation for obvious reasons, but if Octavia does get into a relationship I want it to be natural (or as natural as a demon bird could have.)
Not everything is a ship. I can see these two off scream texting and social media-ing into being friends. These two would be just as nuts as Stolas/Blitzo, helping each other heal & grow but also getting into crazy shit together. Fun.

And can it please not be about their relationships with their dads!

@@nosyalt0991 In the Canon, for how much I did ship them Loona is canonically straight.
Also, blushing through fur or feathers seems a stretch for something that's not Looney Toons
Also Via is still a child, Loona is an adult.

I really hope to see Octavia and Loona get to have more bonding scenes together in the future, they would have such a sweet sisterly bond.
Love how you put “that was the sound of a f*cking divorce” every chance you get hahahah
The fans wanted this interaction to happen for ages, and it was finally delivered to its expectations and I was NOT disappointed!!!
If if wasn't for the ages I'd absolutely ship them, but as someone who also grew up very socially isolated till my late teens/early 20s albeit with a better family situation, I think and know from experience that it would make absolute sense for Octavia to develop a crush on Loona
We've never seen her with friends and when you grow up without those sorts of attachments, you tend to throw yourself at the first person who treats you with kindness at when you hit 18-20, thinking it's romantic affection because you've not learned the difference between platonic and romantic love.
And it might go that way , but I also saw it as them becoming more like sisterly friends (witch judging from there lives they do need very much)

I've never thought of them as being a couple, they would be perfect step siblings and they definitely need each other for comfort and support! ^_^
They both really do need a relatable friendship. It really doesn't need to be romantic to be very cool.
