I enjoy your haul videos because you can tell you love LEGO, you don't just show yourself opening 25 boxes with sets that you just plan on parting out.
Thanks very much. I spend years building my collection by piecing together sets from used lots. Very time consuming but fun part of my hobby. That is basically the exact opposite of parting out which is not as much fun, but sometimes necessary - even if you are not selling.
I have seen and purchased some boxes ‘LEGOS’ at the Kroger that have little stickers on it with the 1-800 number “if this item is found for sale somewhere else”!
Hi Bricktsar, Thank you for being for that information it was really helpful. Please continue a series on how to operate a bricklink store & what things we should avoid. Cheers
I mostly sell complete sets, new and sealed and minifigs, works very well. I do not have the time to be sorting but def want to start getting into individual pieces but what's a good site to upload piece lists??
A large amount of my collection is from bulk lots - but not for stuff that I sell - it was for completing vintage or rare sets. I found it cheaper to buy in bulk than to buy individual sets. I have sold a few of the duplicates I ended up piecing together, but it is definitely too time consuming to do that as a seller.
Cool video ;) I started my BrickLink Store after watching one of your videos last year :D Seems to be going well to. I only started with 1K(in U.K money) You don’t really need a lot of money to start a store but it is hard work(especially the parting out sets which take ages. Well the large sets do) I bought mainly Star Wars sets and normal Classic sets to build up my Store and look for cheap sets but won't buy things I am not interested in like you said :D More New BrickLink videos would be cool to. I have learnt a lot off the videos on RUclips so thank you and the other guys with BrickLink stores who do RUclips videos to ;)
Thanks very much! One of the first Themes are remember buying on steep clearance in bulk amounts was the Castle theme around the time of the Forestmen. That was perfect for me because at that time it was my favorite theme (trains were not around in my area much). And buying bulk was great - not because I planned on reselling (only place to resell was at Flea Markets then) but because I wanted to build a bigger castle city. My regrets are that I didn't take pictures of my collection back then.
BrickTsar Yeah back in days there was no Internet and no BrickLink and no eBay(sounds odd saying that now) :D to sell stuff. Before I started my Store I was building up my Classic Space collection(buying off eBay 1st then found BrickLink which is AMAZING) :P + I bought 3 Star Wars Millennium Falcons 1st because it was buy 2 get 1 free so I thought that was a good deal(I think) :D + To that guy who asked the question you need space(to store the stock) to. So space and time and money + i liked the old Castle themes to and old City and Trains and Ships and Classic Space themes(which is my favourite) ;)
I have this old duplo lego set from the 80s it has a enclosed slide with a ball and has 4 car bases with wheels 2 big 2 small any ideas on what set it could be thanks
Mine use to be free standing but now they are secured to the wall. In fact they are not even going all the way down to the floor now. The ones on the shelving are taped together back to back and seem to hold up pretty well like that.
The more quantity you have of a part, the more likely it will sell. It's better to have fewer lots with higher quantity than more lots and less quantity of each lot in my opinion.
That depends more on what type of part. There use to be one store that had one of the largest inventories in the US but he only had like 20 different parts. Not very useful. But definitely you need good quantities and have a good amount of the right part can be better than a lot of different parts.
Heeeyyyyyyyy Bricktsar :). You mention there would be another video that talked about bubble mailers, scales, etc. I can't find that one. Did you film it? If so, would you mind adding a link? Thanks!
Part out Star Wars and Super Heroes, especially when they first come out. You can get all your money back by selling the figs and the new ones will sell fast, they all the parts grow your store. The bigger your store is the more orders you will get.
Pretty sure we have that one. I will have to check. There is an Autoworld Riddler, Joker, Catwoman, and Penguin. I am always forgetting which I am missing. lol
Hey, Bricktsar I don't know about how much your selling those micro figs for but I seem to sell out of them whenever I have about 30/40 especially if I have the other figs in the set as I find buyers are looking for equal quantities of the different colours.
You know since I never add new ones to the inventory I am probably sitting on them at old prices. I have no idea what I am asking for them but that would be the most logical thing - to come down on the prices. Thanks
BrickTsar also do you ever have a look at stock inventory in regards to the first pieces you have listed and review the prices to see if you are over priced or at average.
Let's say I have about £40 to spend on the parts for a new bricklink store, is there a set that would sell well that you would suggest? (Note I don't want to buy elves, friends, or any of the fighting or gaming themes)
That is really not going to be enough to start a store. I would recommend perhaps collectible minifigures that you like. When you have a small inventory, minifigures might be the only thing to sell. But you sometimes have to wait longer on the demand and value if they are still in stores. Or perhaps a LEGO exclusive set - something that you have to go to the store to get.
Hmm.. I have found a 29.99 set that has a 69.33 6 mounth parts value, would these parts sell? As long as I get back over 29.99 I'm happy! Whatever doesn't sell I would either put at a low price or keep for my collection and then I would get another set that's the price that I get back? What's funny is actually the set only has 350 parts! XD (And it's a artacetacture set btw)
If I keep more store open all month and promote it a lot on RUclips I get more sales. Sales have dropped since I stopped doing the PABLO series. I usually get an average of 3-5 orders a day. I sold enough that PayPal sent me a 1099 last year
Unfortunately I am not able to attend this year. Hope to be back on track in 2018. If all goes well and I reach my goal of 100k subscribers - I may be able to attend a lot more conventions in 2018. BTW - I will be in Germany later this year
Great video! I just opened my BrickLink Store. Would love to know what percentage of the sets you buy for your store were on some kind of discount. #bat
i love the little mummies

This is great! Good point about swooping up the entire shelf!
Thanks for the info. I was thinking of opening one up too to make extra money to get more Lego, but you have to make the right moves.
Yes. It is not for everybody too.
I have seen and purchased some boxes ‘LEGOS’ at the Kroger that have little stickers on it with the 1-800 number “if this item is found for sale somewhere else”!
Thank you for the helpful information about starting a BrickLink store
You are welcome and thanks for watching!
That`s a mighty cellar! Good advice there that I`ll be taking into my mental storage
Thank you
This was very educational. Thank you for the info!
Thank you 😎
Hi Bricktsar,
Thank you for being for that information it was really helpful. Please continue a series on how to operate a bricklink store & what things we should avoid.
Cheers
Now that we finally got the store open (after being out of the country) we should do some updates. They have added new features to Bricklink
A Naboo ball contraption would be EPIC!
We will have to try it
+Otter Lego Mocs I guess you didn't watch the video. It's a directly related to something I said in the video
A lot of great advice! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
What's your bricklink store name?? Greetings from Vivian from Vlissingen the Netherlands
I mostly sell complete sets, new and sealed and minifigs, works very well. I do not have the time to be sorting but def want to start getting into individual pieces but what's a good site to upload piece lists??
Really cool haul! You gave some good tips about starting a Brick Link store!
Thanks!
Great haul and I always enjoy hearing about your bricklink store tips!
That be nice of videos of bricklink store...maybe a video on how it makes it easy to shop on it too ??
Parting out sets takes time, but what REALLY takes time, is sorting, pricing and organising bulk used lots.
I love the panda's!!!!
They are neat 🐼
Really liking this series of videos, I don't plan on opening a bricklink store but it's very interesting cuz I was always curious.
Thanks!

Okay. Thanks

Hey BrickTsar - Did you secure the stack-ons to the wall? I haven't yet but am afraid they might tip over.
Mine use to be free standing but now they are secured to the wall. In fact they are not even going all the way down to the floor now. The ones on the shelving are taped together back to back and seem to hold up pretty well like that.
Nice haul! I didn't know you had a store, what is the name I need to place an order.
Thanks Bryn. Link is in the description and on my About page.

I know I have talked about and I could do some updates. Here is a really old one ruclips.net/video/Bd9pxl3laIk/видео.html
I should do a 2018 Update
Yes, an update would be great - thanks so much for your response!
Part out Star Wars and Super Heroes, especially when they first come out. You can get all your money back by selling the figs and the new ones will sell fast, they all the parts grow your store. The bigger your store is the more orders you will get.
i had that last duplo set
Really? Neat!
Nice. Get an Autoworld Riddler Slot Car.
Pretty sure we have that one. I will have to check. There is an Autoworld Riddler, Joker, Catwoman, and Penguin. I am always forgetting which I am missing. lol
Great advice
Thank you!
#BAT what is the oldest lot that you have in your store
Are you trying to piece together the Darth maul bust?
That was right

Hi Bricktsar! i just wanted to ask how you ended up with that much Naboo spheres!
Target overstock: ruclips.net/video/Xm9Lj6ZDLxg/видео.html
You should do a live stream about bricklink and answer questions
I've been dealing with an ever decreasing quality of internet speed or else I would do live streams more often. It's a great idea.
BrickTsar ok

(And it's a artacetacture set btw)
And just found a 29.99 set with 82 parts value 6 mounths.. but it has 900 parts! Which one do you think would sell better? (This one is classic)
also would technic sell ok? or is it best to start with artetecture or classic?
Do you still have a city
How much profit do you make every month on average
Hi, You're saying it's just a hobby and a way to fund your hobby. Shouldn't you be paying income tax for it, and if yes how would it be calculated?
How much orders you get a month
If I keep more store open all month and promote it a lot on RUclips I get more sales. Sales have dropped since I stopped doing the PABLO series. I usually get an average of 3-5 orders a day. I sold enough that PayPal sent me a 1099 last year
What is the numbers of the set that has panda
That is set 2664 Tiger Enclosure
Also when is the trivia
I don't know the exact date yet. They had to reschedule one competition. I will post a video about it once it is confirmed
BrickTsar thanks looking forward to seeing it
#Bat Bricktsar never saw a set he didn't want to open but, are there even some that you wouldn't open if you had them sealed? I know of one LOL
GreAt advice !!!
Thanks!
Nice video! Always cool to see what you're doing. By the way, are you coming to BrickFair this year?
Unfortunately I am not able to attend this year. Hope to be back on track in 2018. If all goes well and I reach my goal of 100k subscribers - I may be able to attend a lot more conventions in 2018. BTW - I will be in Germany later this year
