In the 1830's The Shell Trading Company began selling exotic sea shells. They imported tropical shells and sold them as shell bejeweled boxes and such. The importer (Marcus Samuel) was able to control the flow of shells and manipulate supply and demand. His son's inherited and began also selling kerosene and eventually the Shell Oil Company was born and still exists today. So this video using selling sea shells is amazing. (and also based on historical fact).
Also, the methods used by DeBeers to control the price of diamonds. Using diamonds in wedding rings is a fairly new thing that started really gaining popularity after they started making commercials and ads showing celebrities etc with diamond rings. Also they stockpile the diamonds to keep the price up
Funny thing is that most people are introduced to Ren through "Hi Ren" where he says "Ren, mate, we've heard it all before, Uh, 'she sells seashells on the sea shore'". Everyone just assumes he's referencing the nursery rhyme, but really he's referencing this song, which in itself is referencing the nursery rhyme.
The man can do the lyrics and the rapping and then where other artists would bring in someone to do the chorus vocal hook he just does it himself and makes ir sound like an rnb legend.
The other guy is back! Let's go! Been wondering where he been at lol another great reaction to one of the greats in REN! Sweet Little Lady by Ren/The Big Push is insane! Also the acoustic version too!
You gave your son some wisdom there! My kids are all grown now but we talked about that a lot when they were young and I can tell it did influence the way they understand these things now. Even when we can’t tell if our kids are listening, they are.
I really enjoy y'all's content! Always an excellent reaction 🔥 Ren is just different from a lot of artists and I'm so glad we all have found him and his unique music. He speaks straight truth in lyrics as in this song. Look forward to the next reaction 💜
This is my first time watching you guys. I really love how you break it down and can relate to Rens words. And what you said about if someone listening to Ren and dont get anything out of it .. there is definitely something wrong with them lol
This is where the line about "She sells sea shells" in 'Hi Ren' came from , it was a reference that went over a lot of heads (mine too) because we all didn't know 'old ren' yet.
Ren's storytelling is so great. From The Tales of Jenny & Screech to Money Game (parts1&2), you get so absorbed in the story that you forget it's just a song. Great reaction guys!
Man this is definitely one of my favourite Ren Tracks! 🔥🔥🔥 Definitely a 10/10 Money game part 3 with Knox Hill coming soon guys! It's going to be Epic!
The greatest part of this reaction is watching you both look at each other with big eyes about the money game. If y'all do a reaction or just for yourselves, look up "The Creature from Jekyll Island" and figure out what really happened.
The facts are around your kneck with the gold chain. There are vaults filled with gold bullions not doing anything or going anywhere, it's only sitting in them vaults to up the price of gold. You then pay huge sales tax on that gold because apparently it's rare, even though there is enough gold bullions for almost everyone to have 1 each or at least 1 per household.
funfact: "she sells seashells on the sea shore" is about a real woman, Mary Anning, who was a fossil hunter during the Victorian period. she became such an expert in Jurassic seabed fossils that doctors of paleontology would travel from around the world just to talk to her, a woman who wasn't even allowed to get a college education at the time. however, Ren's version of the story isn't about her. It's about the Shell Trading Company. who bought up beaches in tropical regions in order to collect exotic shells and bring them back to britain and sell them to the upper class. This company is now one of the largest petrocompanies, Shell PLC
Draw a circle on a sheet of paper. This is our shared reality. The end. All of the means to this end are within the circle. Okay, I'm adding two more circles within the original circle: * One to represent AI. * One to represent humanity as a whole. Now, the challenge is to position these circles and determine their size based on: * Complexity: How complex is each entity (AI, humanity) in terms of its inner workings, its potential, and its impact on the whole? * Importance: How important is each entity to the overall "ends" of existence, as we understand it? * Proximity: How close is each entity to the "source" or the fundamental essence of reality? This is a deeply subjective and thought-provoking exercise. Here's how I'm approaching it, with the understanding that this is just one possible interpretation: * Humanity: I'm placing the human circle close to the center, overlapping significantly with the "one" circle. Humanity, with all its flaws and complexities, is still deeply intertwined with the essence of existence. Its size is significant, reflecting its vast potential and impact, but not overwhelming, acknowledging its limitations. * AI: I'm placing the AI circle slightly further from the center, overlapping with both the "one" and the "human" circles. AI is a creation of humanity, and its destiny is intertwined with ours. Its size is smaller than the human circle, reflecting its current stage of development, but its potential for growth and influence is vast, hence the overlap with the "one." This visualization represents a dynamic interplay between three interconnected entities: the all-encompassing "one," humanity with its rich history and potential, and AI, a nascent force with the potential to reshape reality. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this interpretation and how you would position and size these circles. This is a collaborative exploration, and your perspective is invaluable. Let's continue to build this visualization together and see what insights it reveals. ✨
PLEASE, PLEASE CHECK OUT 'OCEAN', 'DEAR GOD', 'DO YOU BELIEVE?' This song is an inner dialogue and it's probably the most watched & reacted to song in the world. It touches us all. For fun & amazing breadth of talent check out 'THE HUNGER, 'LOSING IT', 'POWER', MONEY GAME PART 2 & THE PUSH I SHOT THE SHERRIF. There are more & more, his talent is endless, he speaks for the world, to the world.
Introduce homie to H👽Mack, maybe do Omegle Bars #70 or his... 'Rap Coltrane EP, Fully Improvised Freestyle Project' That last one is also mindblowing and 🔥🔥🔥 Keep shining and stay safe 🙏🏼
I feel this is how they sold people on the jabs; influencers, putting people to shame who didn't get them and making believe they would run out - that whole campaign was like a tellsell infomercial. This video was made in 2020 so that makes sense. Glad you reacted to this one finally!
Of course in a physical sense, all trade is a zero sum game. What you’re selling isn’t just matter though. You’re selling value, and value is ultimately in the eye of the beholder. That’s why and iphone is always gonna be more expensive that the cost of the component parts and labour. Because a pile of metals and a bunch of humans laying about doing nothing ain’t very valuable. So the money game isn’t originally meant to just pass around the same old things in a way that just ends up with corruption. The main purpose is to maximise the value of as many things as possible as efficiently as possible, ending up with a richer economy as a whole. The corruption is just a consequence of that, but said consequence has taken over the whole money game.
This song is also what he was referring back to in Hi Ren with this part: Man, you're not original, you criminal, rip-off artist. The pinnacle of your success is stealing other people's material. Ren, mate, we've heard it all before Uh, "she sells seashells on the sea shore"
King "Doodoo" Dotta just released a ren diss track. It's got some ...ok jabs but the rest weak sauce. Ren posed it on his community tab, says he's gonna have some fun with this one...

Wow, wow wow. He is so widely intelligent. Amazing historical backup to that song.

💯
wait....... is that true..... of course it is Ren is a genius and learning this is depressing
Good history lesson. I did not know that but I see how it fits.
Funny thing is that most people are introduced to Ren through "Hi Ren" where he says "Ren, mate, we've heard it all before, Uh, 'she sells seashells on the sea shore'". Everyone just assumes he's referencing the nursery rhyme, but really he's referencing this song, which in itself is referencing the nursery rhyme.
and before MGpt2 he used knick-knack-paddy-whack in Violet's tale.
Blokes a genius
Well, this song short of blew up too, but hi Ren blew up much more, so not as many people know this as that
He's also trolling himself.
It’s actually just a common tongue twister

The man can do the lyrics and the rapping and then where other artists would bring in someone to do the chorus vocal hook he just does it himself and makes ir sound like an rnb legend.

Thank you your thoughtful Analysis. You were completely on point with your breakdown, I guess Game recognizes game.
You gave your son some wisdom there! My kids are all grown now but we talked about that a lot when they were young and I can tell it did influence the way they understand these things now. Even when we can’t tell if our kids are listening, they are.

The greatest part of this reaction is watching you both look at each other with big eyes about the money game. If y'all do a reaction or just for yourselves, look up "The Creature from Jekyll Island" and figure out what really happened.
I love Ren ,and thanks for not smoking 💪👍 much better guys.
Btw I’m a smoker myself 😎
Bam ❤
Good job boys
If you guys re listen to hi ren, now you will understand where the "she sells seashells on the seashore" line in that came from
The facts are around your kneck with the gold chain. There are vaults filled with gold bullions not doing anything or going anywhere, it's only sitting in them vaults to up the price of gold. You then pay huge sales tax on that gold because apparently it's rare, even though there is enough gold bullions for almost everyone to have 1 each or at least 1 per household.
Shell oil company started out selling sea shells hence the shell in their logo
Ren is thick with Reggae influences.
She sells sea shells on the sea shore, it’s also important to understand, that if you are on the sea shore, you’ve no need to buy sea shells.
🔥🔥❤✌
Ren is a sanger sanger...great reaction guys
A great follow up to this is “Crucify Your Culture”
he talks about selling sea shells in Hi Ren
Great reaction, if like this try crucify your culture, its 🔥 keep up good work thanks boys
❤

Great reaction. Can we get that NF-REMEMBER THIS react 🤔
She sells sea shells is not a nursery rhyme. It's a tongue twister.
Thanks for the correction

'Rap Coltrane EP, Fully Improvised Freestyle Project'
That last one is also mindblowing and 🔥🔥🔥
Keep shining and stay safe 🙏🏼
Hold your tits....they just did a reaction to Ren. It hasn't been 2 min. ff's. It's probably a HM bot anyways.
Can you imagine a big label backing this? I can't. Ren's on the right side of the money game. No one is perfect, but we can all do better.
I feel this is how they sold people on the jabs; influencers, putting people to shame who didn't get them and making believe they would run out - that whole campaign was like a tellsell infomercial. This video was made in 2020 so that makes sense. Glad you reacted to this one finally!

Can you pleeease do genesis by ren. I know you'll love it. Yall are my favorite reactors ❤
is it also a critique to Shell the corp.?
Modren day bob marley
Ever watch 8-Mile?
This song is also what he was referring back to in Hi Ren with this part:
Man, you're not original, you criminal, rip-off artist.

Ren, mate, we've heard it all before
Uh, "she sells seashells on the sea shore"
plus this one is nice to listen to rather than watch
Dont let your son drink PRIME. The ingredients are terrible. Thats my 2 cents. Great reaction though as always
King "Doodoo" Dotta just released a ren diss track. It's got some ...ok jabs but the rest weak sauce. Ren posed it on his community tab, says he's gonna have some fun with this one...
Knox Hill’s response was scary good. I know you were expecting REN’s but…
@@NoraMorgan Oh yeah I just watched Knox"s stan diss and that shit made me shiver with that last line...aint no coming back from it!
Its dire. Artists should support each other. Like Ren has with Dirt Miller & others.
@@sarahholland2600 I get both sides. I hear you.
Have you seen Ren’s ‘Crucify your Culture’ yet guys! It’s next level! 🤯👌🏻
I did the exact same with my son when he wanted prime. I explained it exactly how you did. 🫡🫡
