I really love this flow of being able to practice along and play & break it down w chords. Feels like I’m having a productive lesson with a favorite teacher. Thanks!
La Femme Eliza thanks!
Appreciate Video! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you considered - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (should be on google have a look)? It is a great exclusive product for learning piano fast without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got great success with it.
Yeah def like the flow here too ty for spreading the love of jazz
You are such a good teacher man. I discovered this channel thanks to the video about the diminished scales but now I'm watching all your videos one after the other.
The work you are doing is priceless. Thank you very much for what you are doing.
Love from a saxophonist from Italy.
I will never be a great jazz player but I love your style and just listening to you is helping me understand and learn some basics which is improving my blues and pop rock playing.
Trump: "I've never heard anyone explain it as good as Tony, that I can tell you . . . "
There is no better piano improv of this starting around 11:30 on RUclips or anywhere. And I’ve listened to a lot arrangement by the stars. You are a fine piano player! So gifted, thank you for all.
Thanks Tony. I've been studying your videos and now that I retired, I am dedicating time to the piano and I hear a huge improvement learning from great free videos like yours. I guess you can teach old dogs new tricks
Thank you, Tony, for this ear-catching tune, "All of Me".
My uncle and I were watching you in Brisbane, Australia, teach us this tune, and we are deeply grateful.
Besides your playing and teaching the piano to us here on RUclips, I want to tell you that I also enjoy your singing.
Thank you again, Tony, for your passion for music and for your kind generosity in bringing so much of your experience and jazz education to RUclips.
Ivan - Brisbane Australia
In agreement with the other comments - a great lesson for all levels of ability - you are generous with your time- many thanks Tony.
I have always been wanting to play jazz, improvising notes etc. Thanks to Tony’s video, I am starting to be able to do it. My wife who is trained on the classical piano style is amazed at the jazzy music from my efforts. This is testament to Tony’s skill at teaching (instead of any talent or skill on my part)!
All of Me (in C)
00:40 basic (left hand root position block chords + right hand melody)
01:44 inverted chords
02:47 melody improvising
04:28 rootless voicings
11:29 improvising demonstration
Tony, thankyou for your extremely informative, brilliant and patient explanation of how to play this tune. I have found it very helpful to me as I begin my journey on jazz piano. You ARE the RUclips master of jazz piano tutorials. Thankyou.
Boy did you just rock out on that!!! Such a nice improv to end the lesson! I really like the way you play. Thanks!!!
I love your videos… they are really outstanding. please never stop!!!
Tony, Thank you! You ARE the best "splainer"--this is an outstanding learning video. MORE, MORE, MORE!
Ha ! Ricky Ricardo... glad you liked it
I'm not a piano player, but an organ player, and I enjoy all your explanations, there are very useful , even for an organ player, thanks
Some fantastic stuff here. I learned a lot. You do explain this stuff better than ANYBODY has ever explained this stuff. And hearing it while it's played, and explained, seems to light my brain up.
I'll never get sick of rootless voicings! You are great Tony. Thanks!
Fantastic, I learnt 5 years of knowledge in a few minutes, brilliant teaching, please keep at it👍
Fantastic teacher, looking forward to exploring all your videos
Thank u. You've opened my mind. Suddenly I understand how to play this song.
I am in Kirgizstan. Workin by pianist in conservatory. And very nead lessons like dis---very in C andCm keys. I dont speaking in english good. You definitely explain music better than others
you explain this stuff so great! your self praise is well deserved
I appreciate that!
A best way to teach with instruction on top It’s much easier way to follow ! Much appreciated.
You are truly amazing! Picking up piano as a guitarist, found your videos very helpful! Thanks for your content and effort!!
The same here!
Great tutorial Tony! Thank you… what I noticed is the similarity of chords with another great jazz standard. “Nobody knows You when your down and out”
It's good to appreciate humility but sometimes I guess you do have to toot your own horn for people to get it. That was just the case with me. I've been watching jazz tutorials for years from some really great musicians who couldn't teach me anything in 100 videos. I realize it's because their real knowledge was behind the pay walls of their books and paid content. The fact that you aren't selling anything frees your content up to actually provide useful information not just click bate. I recognized that I learn more from you than anyone else but I guess it took you saying it for me to realize YOU'RE THE BEST OUT. Hands down. I really appreciate your dedication and willingness to share your incredible insight. Thanks so much.
This is very useful, thank you!
Very good piano lesson, congratulations, it helped a lot. I was lucky to find your RUclips channel. Professional way of teaching music. Tks a lot.
Thanks Tony. This is one of my favorite songs. Your tutorial is a great introduction to what can be done to tune. A fantastic teaching job.
You are amazing! So glad I found your channel.
It’s a bit too advanced for me, but very motivating. Thank you Tony
Consult my playlists - I'll post in the description, I have videos that will bring you to the advanced level. Cheers!

Thanks Tony this help take me to another level.
Your piano style are so great and I feel so happy.
This number is so difficult for me. But your sound is so pretty:)
I try now.
I’m trying to go from being a jazz hacker to an honest jazzer, Tony is helping me.
Fabulous explanations and teaching style. A great resource for the budding piano player.
Been a subscriber for quite a while and always enjoyed your youtube videos! Craving for more and rly appreciate ur hard work!
Many thanks Tony for another great lessons. Buona Musica! :-) :-) :-)
The Video is still online. So i agree, a great tutorial. Difficult topic made easy to understand.
Great explanation and techniques. Also, you've upped the editing game, good job!
11:28 Thats the kind of jazz I like. Thanks for sharing. Im sure Ive heard this tune before but not sure where. Possibly in a movie or on a cruise.
If you could do another video and completely dissect the soloing on this it would be nice. Sheet music would be great as well.
Thank you Tony! A lot to learn in this video ! Thank you !
I did really love your video, you are a great teacher. thanks.
Thank you!
Extremely good explanation😃
Merci Tony !
Hats off to ya' Tony. You got a patron scheme or donation page or anything? I'm currently a broke student in his final semester, but would love to contribute over summer. Your videos have been a huge help!
Update: still going strong with your vids 2 years later lol. Thank you for all of the resources theyve been invaluable :)
Excellent Thanks
The best lesson I’ve seen...
Just found your stuff online. You are not Donald Trump - you are fantastic at explaining everything and genuinely interested in teaching jazz. I can't wait to watch more of your videos.

Great Vid!! It seem like such an easy song, but it certainly has its complexity.
Amazing, as usual. Thanks for postling.
Great stuff Tony, one even I can follow - on ukulele! I will try to work it up and hopefully post something. I am a complete novice.

This ia great, thank you Tony !
Meraviglioso.
Awesome 👏😃👍
Very informative keep on.. Thanks for the copy.
Excellent
...[Cmaj7] *A7(9,13) Dm9 G7 (b9,13) C6/9*

Hey Tony when learning a standard as a beginner to jazz would you recommend just working through the chords and melody first and then adding improv around the melody or would you recommend doing this as you go through?
Yes that’s a good approach
excelente saludos
great
Jeepers, you made my head spin in a good way :)
many thanks...
toooop
Hello,
Nothing is played with pedal here or I am mistaken ?
Are boxes similar or same to hand grips??
Merci beaucoup!
Hi, is there a specific reason that Tony is playing a C6 instead of Cmaj7?
Actually said to me he was coming home Saturday or maybe he’s going that way Christine is going down going to be there with her
