      From what I seem to hear most of the actual vets seem to b pretty chill (I don't live in USA, so mileage may vary), but the guys you gotta keep an eye out for are the couch commandos. People who never served but think they're the hottest turd on the pavement because they watched Pierre Spray talk about military tech he doesn't understand on RT once.

    I was curious as to how bad it hurt playing airsoft, so I got my gas blowback pistol and shot myself point blank in the thigh. I ended up with a 10 to 15mm bruise for a week and it stang for about two minutes. Far and away better than "PAIN" Ball (or Paintball if you prefer) as I got hit on the forehead between the visor peak and the lenses of the goggles and had a welp about 20mm round and it looked like I was growing a horn!!! And boy did that hurt! Any way, Thanks for the videos, have fun and keep calling them hits. 👍

    Good info. Adding to the boots. Most common injury is twisted ankles in rough terrain. Boots should have ankle protection.
    Here in the UK some players don't use lower face protection. Tip if you don't want to loose teeth... ALWAYS use a full facemask. (can be two part goggles and mesh lower like you use but try to avoid any gaps)
    Eye protection should completely enclose the eyes so NOT shooter glasses with gaps around the sides.

    to anyone who wanna get into the sport but dont wanna spend alot? well for me I literally bought my gun off my friend with a charger and battery.. then ordered some eye protection on amazon.. yes ik that sounds bad but it worked.. 😭 spend a bit more money on eye pro for sure.. but all I had for my first 2 weeks of playing was: my gun, 1 hicap mag, my eye/face protection and gloves.. and could I say that getting hit on the chest and back hurt.. so after 2 weeks of playing I knew I had to get a vest as my 3rd purchase.. but basically what im saying is BUY ONLY the essentials you need to start playing (gun, battery, battery charger, bbs, and eye/face pro) as you play more often you will know what to buy

    I've tried many sports / hobbies and Airsoft is far and away the most welcoming. The advice here is spot on, ask about the cool looking gun and you'll be rewarded with a go on it or as I've seen on more than one occasion ,a response of "here, you take it for the next round, I have my xxx gun spare".

    9:08 I haven’t played airsoft yet but my brother has. Using common knowledge and Empathy I can say: *I think you’ll also might feel a little paranoid at the start but you also gotta remember your opponents may feel the same way. and I say “may” because I feel like most experienced players are more perceptive and insightful enough to not be surprised by somethings.*
    Like with any game i think confidence is still important for playing this and just trust your veteran teammates.

    My biggest obstacle in starting airsoft is getting a gun that actually works or isn't broken somehow right out of the box. Everyone says to get an aeg but I've bought 3 already and had to return all of them for some reason or another. i just returned a Lancer Gen 2 Proline M4 today because the ejector flap was broken right out of the box. I'm going back to a springer as I have never had trouble with those and at least I can get out there to play.

    • @Xavviieerrr
      @Xavviieerrr 7 месяцев назад +1

      it all comes down to budget and what u can afford, aeg's at extremely low budgets break, ur better off getting a gas pistol and learning to fix and maintain a GBB hicapa or something of the sort, cheap and easy to work on, guns break no how much money u spend, it part of the game gotta get used to it and hopefully u can save down the line for extra guns to use, but if ur really adamant about using springers, at least use the higher quality shotgun springers

    Questions:
    1: Can others shoot you while you're reloading?
    2: Do you need a backpack in game- I saw shoulder straps on you.
    3. That radio on your shoulder; is it connected to all your teammates?
    4: Should I start with a basic glock 19, an AEG or both?
    EDIT:
    Additional questions;
    5: If a 10 year old is playing can his/her teammates look after him/her. Or do the parents have to do that.
    6: How long do matches last?
    7: How do airsoft grenades work? Or how do they hurt you?
    8:
    How do airsoft flash-bangs work and how much do they hurt your eardrums
    Last questions
    When replacing your empty mags, do you put them in your vest or throw them away. Also what if all your mags are empty

    • @PrairieDogAirsoft
      @PrairieDogAirsoft  2 месяца назад

      @@boeing_aviation433 Answers!:
      1. Absolutely they can! If you gotta reload or change mags during a firefight, take cover and reload without exposing yourself!
      2. You can airsoft in any outfit you want! No rules! The backpack holds my HPA tank for my HPA gun. It also holds my stuffed animal friend. Otherwise, I wouldn’t need one. I find no other need to pack extra goodies in a backpack because games don’t last long enough and I can resupply between games 👍🏼
      3. My radio is available and ready for anyone willing to share channels with me, including my wife who isn’t always watching my back out there. It’s handy to have… but kind of a gimmick since it’s not giving me some crazy intel advantage. I just use it to see how my wife is doing out there or ask her for backup.
      4. I wouldn’t get a pistol or sidearm of any kind until you’re sure you like airsoft! Stick with an affordable AEG, like a G&G brand gun (M4 platform probably). Pistol kills aren’t very common unless you play indoor airsoft. Getting a nice pistol kill is cool every now and then, and it’s good to have one when you’re being conscious about close engagement distances. But for now, dip your toe into airsoft and just get an AEG primary and enjoy yourself! 😁

      I’d just recommend not pushing beyond your physical limits. Give yourself time to adjust to the environment and you might not find the need to be running around constantly if you can find some decent spots to post up. Move methodically and hold angles rather than hurrying around the map constantly
      Since you’re going alone for your first time, just be observant and you can always find a friendly player to ask questions! Going alone isn’t bad since you can focus on yourself in the moment, rather than worrying about others and the experience they’re having
      Hope it goes well! Always happy to help 🤙🏼

      Hmm.. good question
      If my field is closed or it’s a week day, sometimes I’ll fiddle around with my airsoft guns indoors (unloaded of course)
      I’ll practice reloading, transitioning from right hand shooting to left hand shooting… random stuff like that. Just those two things alone are really good things to do
      Otherwise, some shooter games might help you get into the zone/hype for some airsoft on the weekend. Stay healthy and keep some level of fitness in the meantime.
      I’ve got a chin-up bar installed in a hallway I have to pass through, dividing my living space in half, whenever I pass through, I do 10 chin-ups. It’s my lazy exercise habit 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Not too sure how long exactly it takes for the bb to break down/dissolve. But depending on weather it could be

    So i've always wanted to play airsoft and a couple months ago i went to my first game got some rentals and it overall was a good time (although very stressful) but the one thing that has been discouraging me from going back is accidently shooting my twamate i felt so bad after i did it and i just dont know how people differentiate teammates from opponents, tips would be much appreciated!

    • @Airsoft-ED
      @Airsoft-ED 13 дней назад +1

      Usually one team will have coloured armbands and the others don't. So don't shoot as soon as you spot someone. Observe first is usually a good tactic. And friendly fire happens all the time (even for real) so just apologise and have a laugh with it.

    What happens when you run out of ammo in all your magazines and have no pistol or any other weapons?

    • @PrairieDogAirsoft
      @PrairieDogAirsoft  2 месяца назад +1

      Normally, games don’t last long enough for that to happen. But if you do end up running out of ammo during a game, simply go back to the safe zone and refill/reload
      Be conservative with your ammo! Full auto is often not necessary! 👍🏼

    I'm curious what if you get hit but you don't feel anything. This was a good video recommend to others. It was useful because I might quit cricket. And when you are aiming how do I judge distance or if the wind will move the bb in the air.

    • @Airsoft-ED
      @Airsoft-ED 13 дней назад

      If you don't feel it and don't shout 'HIT' they will keep shooting you until you do 😁
      Aiming comes with practice and is heavily weapon dependant. Optics will usually only be useful when you have more experience and your own weapon. So to start just use open sights and adjust fire based on where you see the BB go.

      Hey again!
      So the metal nipple measures at 11/16th of an inch, which is pretty much 17.5mm
      The stock/plastic nipple is 10.5/16th of an inch (16.7mm), which is ever so slightly smaller.
      Somewhere I read that they made the metal nipple just a tiny bit longer to help with feeding issues. So it definitely won’t hurt if you have yours machined to be between 17-17.5mm in total length.
      The bottom, thinner part that sits in your mags would be the portion that is slightly longer
      Hope this helps!

    Hey, I'm just about to try airsoft for the first time and one thing i was wondering if it's allowed to directly hold a gun against someone's head (helmet, when the weapon is safe and finger not on the trigger of course) and say "pew" or something like that. Cause I really REALLY wanna do that xD (also sorry if my english isn't 100% correct, I'm not native english but I hope you still understand what I'm trying to say)

    • @PrairieDogAirsoft
      @PrairieDogAirsoft  10 месяцев назад

      Haha I mean if it’s a helmet and someone who maybe knows you, it should be fine
      Might be a little too risky around random people mid-game, especially since you can “bang bang” or mercy kill from a distance.
      Just be ready to call yourself hit if that enemy player refuses to call hit and if they don’t allow “bang bang” at your field. I could never shoot someone that close even if they refuse a mercy kill! 😅

      Knee pads can slide around with vigorous activity and you might find them uncomfortable. They aren’t a “must”, but all it takes is one knee slam into a rock if you play with intensity…

    Number one: what sort of gloves should I wear. should I wear hard, biker gloves, or just normal cotton or whichever material gloves?
    number two: will the field owners supply me with face protection?
    number three: what kind of clothes should I attend with - baggy/light wool or cotton clothes or anything different?
    number four: if I do decide to continue airsoft, where could I find affordable and good paddings?
    If these questions will be answered, I will 100% not make poopy :>
    thanks for the video tho!

      I know that it was 8 months ago but maybe it'll help others:
      1. Anything is better than nothing, but get some harder tactical ones.
      2. Mine do and most do because most of the rentals are kids and you don't want kids running without teeth
      3. At my field they actually give you clothes but if you don't want that, get something comfortable which covers your body, probably black colored. I wear a black hoodie.
      4. In my case the most affordable stuff (I'm from Poland) is in Polish airsoft shops. Here we have Taiwangun and Gunfire. You probably have something similar in your country too, if you are from the states then most sites are fine (you can also try checking local shops).
