That piece called "Mighty Love" was spirit filled(Holy Ghost) Yes it makes anybody dance mad b3 organ , lead guitars, drums, brass section, Mr Phillipe and company. The music is purest of energy. It's one of my favorite in the whole world 🌎.

If it wasn't for Thom Bell who I believe was working at Atlantic Records they would have been forgotten. There was a list of artists being looked at and the Spinners were at the bottom of the list. Thom Bell looked at the list and said, "I want to work with the Spinners and the rest is history. Thom Bell and Linda Creed began to work with them and their first hit I believe was "Rubberband Man."
Man or Woman, There Will Never Be Another Singer or Entertainer Like Philippe Wynne . He is the Sole Reason terms like Ad Lib, Improvising, Runs, etc., were created to describe what he can do, for example, in between the words ‘Mighty Love’ with a song effortlessly, and here he even Tops (No Pun Intended) the Studio Version of the song and I really did not think that was possible. RIP Philippe. We Will Never Forget You or Your Incredible Talents and Musical Legacy🙏🏽🎤🎼🎹🎭🎫🎟🏆🥇✝️🛐☯️☮️
the all time greats, have DISTINCTIVE voices...they have "something" that no other human being has. And Mr Wynne was one of those singers. The big fella didnt live a long life...only 43 yo, when he made his transition from this world to the next. But just like Sam Cooke, Otis Redding and Barry White (all young when they died), Wynne left his mark. His genius was such that NOBODY in the music industry has even attempted to sing like he did.
Another effortless performance by a Soul Master, Wynne, backed up by the MIGHTY Spinners. What a night in London -- the group transfixed the loving audience . Wynn had the energy and soul to continue another half-hour. It's 2023 and no one on the musical landscape can delivery this harmony and soul, that we enjoyed in the '70's. Thanks Domin for the great video .

I saw The Spinners in NY in 1977 and when they closed the show with Mighty Love and Phil Wynne did the same thing, the whole place went completely crazy.

I agree with you Jonathan. Bobby Smith & Philippe Wynne always did their vocal swaps perfectly, as well as Henry Fambrough. I think Bobby & Philippe were more like brothers. The pic of Purvis, Bobby & Henry standing in front of Philippe’s casket says it all. It was if they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. But on a happy note, we have videos to keep the memories alive. And, Henry is still here, in his 84th year.

Mighty Love show/skit sure does indicate the premonition how it was that Phillipe would one day suffer a heart attack during a performance and die the next day. Phillipe was wired.
It hurts my heart to watch this incredibly charismatic & inspirational performance, and know that Phillippe Wynne died of a heart attack at age 43. I honestly think that had he lived longer both he and the other band mates would've reunited, the Spinners would've soared to new heights and given us even more to love and remember them for. Of course this did not happen, and even the last surviving member passed away fairly recently. RIP to all of the Spinner's. You truly shared with us a mighty love!

“I knew when I first met you that you had a mighty love Baby!”
This is way I like Ole School music the Spinners were fantastic performers.
I bet motown regret letting these dudes leave. they were def underrated
