Kohar Kasparian was Egyptian Armenian like myself, and during the 1940's she emigrated to Armenia and became the first Classical/Operatic singer of Armenia. I questioned the same as you are questioning zms77 for any relation with the above Gohar. I also would like to know. Btw; the Maestro Yervant Alexanian lead the Hamazkain choir both in Egypt and in Montreal, Canada and himself as well as Libarid Nazaryants were Kohar Kasparian's voice teachers. Maestro Alexanian has asked me to cultivate my voice years ago, because he thought that I have very similar voice as Kohar Kasparian, but alas I didn't pursue it. Years later I am pursuing voice techniques and my classical voice teacher says that I have very similar voice as Koharig Kasparian. What a coincidence in my life.
