No one tops Jennifer Beals...she was the best Alex in the film,all these gals dont even come close.all the productions of this show have their own Alex,but in my mind Jennifer Beals is and will be the young and talented and sexy Alex,hands down!!.no one will top Jennifer Beals not a chance.
the changes from this to London are staggering. To start with, I must admit, I really hated the idea of street dance appearing into this sequence, but it's really grown on me the last few months. That said, I'd still much rather have just Alex doing this dance by herself, the whole show has been building up to this monent, wonder why they decided to change it.. The rest of the show though, London beats this out of the water.
I saw the show in Milan and I'm so disappointed.There was so many songs missing, there was a mother (why?),there wasn't the skating scene,and Alex's friend,did not have a boyfriend but a cousin (again, why?).In the water scene they put the wrong song,and the right one didn'show at all. A lot of time waisted in boring duets,Alex did not make the jump at the casting, and Nick did not have an ex wife. In other words, that wasn't Flashdance at all. Does in UK is the same? Txs.
I went on a college trip to see this at Leeds Grand theatre and I loved it.

London,Belfast,Madrid,Berlin,not one of the gals playing Alex,Jennifer Beals hands down is the best Alex of all time.

Jennifer Beals will forever the best Alex..all these gals don't come close to what jennifer did in the film.
