Jesus, all those kids look like just that, kids. But they are fucking so tight together and have great timing and feel. They look like every shitty garage band we tried to start in high school, but they are just on top of things. Great performance.
TheOnlyRealJohn well hes 18 right here, hes definitly an adult here and so are his homies 18 and 19 to 20, your an adult by 16 in London, they mature faster than us in America, shows in his content, and hes been around for awhile
Basic means not aesthetically pleasing to the ear? I wasn't commenting on technical musicianship, I just dig the kid and the band because the album version doesn't have drums. I felt it was a nice logical step
why does he consistently put out recordings that in no way at all capture the greatness of his live performances. honestly, every live performance he does for his songs sounds better than his recordings.
Ryan Carpenter 6FBTM is fantastically produced, engineered, and performed. He's a great performer, but the studio versions stand on their own easily, and are IMO a good bit superior to the live takes
Feel like this is one of the best live performances of this, there's no beer swilling crowds singing with him, it's just him on this corny American TV show and he's actually got something to be grinding against which is what the whole song is about
"A lot of people took from it that it was a very socially observant song," he said. "But to me it was quite immature rambling about the area (I lived in )."
Never heard of this guy before. Was just watching a mac de marco live gig and this popped up as one of recommended videos to watch... So I clicked on it... And I like it 👍
I understand that he's not everybody's cup of tea but you have to give him points whether you like him or not for sounding sounding the same on his records and live. What a great performance
This video was my first time hearing King Krule. This performance blows the studio version out of the water! I think Letterman was pretty impressed, too.

He does kind of resemble Scut Farkas, the bully character from "A Christmas Story" actually; "cry for me, you gonna cry baby? CRY!!!" LOL. In reality, he could not be further from that character. Archy is a really cool young man. Intelligent, soft spoken, charismatic, and humble (but tough and street smart). Also a musical genius, in my opinion.
Always liked how Letterman thanked King Krule for choosing his platform to make their network debut in the US. It may seem like a small thing, but to me, it shows that David was always a humble guy and had a great deal of respect for the artists who came onto his show.
bruh I dont know if Im just high but when they did the "when positivity seems hard to reach...." bit i fucking lost it, the high hats? cmon mannnn and the pause and sudden clash of music is insane wow 10/10
Snuffy Smith no i'm just kind of an ass sometimes haha. also i was kind of trying to give him advice, what i said is true. If you sent an email to a record label or even a venue that you wanted to play with terrible grammar, they most likely won't even read your email, thats just the way it is. I'm not judging his creative ability or his ability to songwrite, or even that he idolizes Archie because he rips on guitar and is extremely talented, I was simply being cynical and saying that bad grammar doesn't bode well in the music or really any industry.
For all of his years and watching the show here and there for an older rock and roll lover Dave letterman always brought cool music on his show meaning indie stuff people would not expect on his show.Love it and this song

The thing with "every shitty garage band" is that they all give up too early and easily before they start getting anywhere.
Isaiah Martinez Lol, yea they dont mature faster than us. Archie is just a crazy talented dude.
They also get actual music training in school if they want it.
yeah butmost of the people do fuck all in the lessons or just play the recorder

+Thaísa Souza dead right
+Thaísa de Souza Then invest in a better stereo system.
Christopher Helling don't act like mixing/mastering is all there is to music. the arrangement is different in this live performance
John Welch Save your nostalgia. That is what 'Live' is for. I want quality when I run it through my stereo system.
This verion sounds like shit compared to the studio. How there even an argument...
Almost three years later and this performance still makes my soul fly.
how about 5?

Damn I really wish more people listened to King Krule. His music is too damn good.
Same he needs way more attention
I'm honestly glad he doesn't, I don't want this to turn into overhyped garbage like most singers just let him stay on the down low
Not really. He has some good songs but I wouldn't say it's too good.
@@Lmclean89 opinions man we all got em
