- The Witchfinder General of the Colony of Massachusetts Bay issues a dire warning to all those who love God concerning the recent discovery of a secret wizarding world in the old country as revealed by one JK Rowling (a most godly man), and a diabolical school of witchcraft known as Hogwarts, where Christian children are taught to practice the dark and Satanical arts of magic.
"What's up with the weird accent?" It's a rendition of Original Early Modern English Pronunciation, commonly abbreviated as OP, an accent reconstructed by a linguist and Shakespeare scholar that's our best guess as to what people in southern England sounded like in the 17th century.

The Logos Project actually did a whole multi-part series DEFENDING the HP series from a Catholic-literary perspective as an example of modern literature with lots of classic archetypal storytelling elements, and debunk a lot of what Marshall/Ripperger talking points.
There’s the Taylor Marshall/Fr. Ripperger crowd, and then there’s another crowd of Catholics that really enjoy the Harry Potter books.

Upon finding himself there, he decieved the demons into making him their king, all so that he might bring the power of the Lord upon them in a more efficient manner. Rather than repent of her sinful ways and join this man who has, perhaps foolishly, attempted to cleanse hell itself; she learns witchcraft from various demons. Even after Satan drops all form of artifice, she embraces his power to destroy the witchfinder. I wish the Witchfinder General counsel on if these pamplhets be godly or the work of the Great Deciever. Is the defeat of the witchfinder the result of how even he has become consumed by sin in Hell, or because the work wishes to seduce young readers to the maiden's ways?
