Coincidentally we were playing our band’s 25th anniversary gig in Bristol that night. A long day as we decided to fit in a 4 hour rehearsal that afternoon so that ex band members could run through some old numbers. By midnight this old guy was hanging! Keep up the good work, that man!

Just got back from two days away and watched this - horifying glimpse of me and all (how did I get that old ?) - and I agree with everything said by Dave about what a great day and performance it was. Regarding that unlike some others there was no autotune or dub vocals in use by Red Giant just the real deal of pure talent. If you like technology produced music the others were fine - me I'm an old boy and only like people who can play and perform proper.
It's a truth universally acknowledged that a band often spends ten times more time travelling to a gig, setting up,and breaking down than actually playing. Whenever I sulk about it I remember all the kit our drummer has to lug around...
I am so gutted I couldn't be there to finally see you guys live because Newbury is just 45 mins from me, but I was up in Lincoln for the weekend - me and Red Giant completely swapped places on the map 😩 So glad it went well for you guys though. I wouldn't want to follow an ABBA tribute band, but I once went to see an ABBA tribute band and during the gig they played some Quo, and the crowd went far crazier for that than they did the ABBA songs. Rock is definitely the one ❤

So stoked to finally see you live and meet you all after the show! Agree sound was spot on I was impressed with how good all the bands sounded and big respect being the only original band and following Abba tribute. Appreciate you traveling so far and glad you enjoyed playing the festival. Hope I can get to another live show in the future.

Good rockin' Red Giant and I love John Joe's proper yellowbelly Lincs accent mate. Following an ABBA tribute act may be a war you think you cannot win, but music is not a war, and even when it is, you have the diddlydums on your side, pollinating the eardrums of anyone in listening distance!
Eyes on the road Dave!😱 Great video. I love behind the scenes stuff. Would love to see some live footage though as I live in the states and have no immediate plans or the means to visit the UK. If I did a Red Giant show would definitely be on the itinerary.
Just a suggestion. As someone that will most likely never get to see you all play unless you go to the states. Would you have thoughts on getting together recorded live shows and behind the scenes footage and release on dvd? Just so people that cant see you can still enjoy the live shows and see the band progress.
Dave, your voice sounds different when you do the résumé at the end. It sounds deeper and you seem to have picked up a more Midlands accent. I've often observed in your videos that you do accents really well. Maybe it comes with having such a good musical ear. It seems like, after having spent all day with the band, that you've picked up John Joe's accent. I'm so glad everything went well for you and the band at Newbury.
Stop whinging if your songs are good enough and you perform well, you will stand out regardless. There has been many occasssions when support bands have outshined the headliners.
