      It is big for the Philippines. Cold weather should be there where you are now. I gladly gave that up. 🤣🤣🤣

    Really taking shape and looking good. if u could would appreciate u highlight issues tht u have while building and the solutions u implemented to prevent being scammed or taken advantage and/or ur budget management techniques in ththe PH environment. many thks.

      Thank you.
      1) Since this build is more US construction, investigate if you can get the things you need here in the Philippines. This means thinking ahead on materials and ordering things from the US so you have them when they are needed. A good example is the LP lines for the gas cook top and gas oven. I want to use black pipe. They use rubber hose here.
      Trust. Some of the crew is Sela's family. They know I won't allow stealing or people who just want to show up and not work. Also, so the materials don't disappear.
      Someone to sleep on site to guard the property at night.
      Having knowledge of building a house. I have built 2 houses back in the states, so you have some clue.
      Lastly, patience is good as things don't happen as quickly here in the Philippines due different building standards and equipment.

    Looks great glad to see the floor coming along. Sure looks like hard work to set the trusses, but I bet they are heavier.

      Thank you. I was going to try and lift one to get a sense of how heavy, but decided against it. 😂😂😂

    it is gonna be a beautiful home once done. When ur electrician is working ask them about the grounding. I have seen many videos where it is not grounded..i made sure mine was grounded. very important for ur electric system to be ground to protect ur family and ur appliances, did u guys need get permits? it seems some places there are more strict with it then others. thanks for the vids.love seeing them building.

      Thanks for the comments. We will be grounded for sure. All work is permitted. We picked very good people to work with so I look forward to the final inspection.

      @@KevinParent248 yeah it seems ur crew is so good which is why u seemed relaxed..i have seen many others who picked bad crew and were miserable. sometimes we dont understand why they do things differently then we do but we must accept somethings but seems ur crew listens to you when u change things or have concerns. i dont know if u saw my other comment about the wood doors and jambs. but i found our few year later that it is more expense trying to keep them in good condition.so i will change them all to metal. i dont know if u planned for that since u have not discussed it yet. sorry if i am putting too much input and thanks for sharing your experiences.

    • @KevinParent248
      @KevinParent248  27 дней назад +1

      @davewright6529 thank you for the comment. We have great communication both ways and I like to keep it that way. For the doors, we are using wood. The wood is called sambulewen. It is similar to oak in the hardness scale, so I'm not expecting issues. I guess if I do, metal could be a solution.

    Looking awesome Kevin. Will you be doing anything to the generator room to deaden the noise and vibration from the generator?

    • @KevinParent248
      @KevinParent248  27 дней назад

      Thanks. So far my only thought was that the exhaust will be vented outside. Any thoughts?

    • @ronsorenson7196
      @ronsorenson7196 26 дней назад +1

      @@KevinParent248 you might consider a rubber mat under the generator to absorb some of the vibration. The room will require some kind of ventilation as the motor will create a lot of heat. You don’t want the motor recycling the hot air as it’ll shorten the life of the generator. Maybe a vent ( intake for the room) down low and one up high on the opposite side with an exhaust fan on it. Just a thought. I enjoy your daily updates. Thanks

      @@ronsorenson7196thanks. I'll look. Into the mat idea. There will be plenty of windows in both the genset room and will pump rooms. Was planning on leaving a bigger floor fan in front of one of them and opening a few of the windows when the generator is running.

    I understand the catch basins run together at some point does it run away from the home or does it just seep into the ground?

      @danielsimms3361 not sure of water supply for your area, but I'll be catching rainwater to supplement potential water issues in Bohol.

    Omg don't let them put the downpipes in the columns, they will leak because they never put enough glue😂 you can imagine the problems that can't be fixed, I understand they will say this is the way we always do it , but I recommend you get rid of the problem areas before you go through the nightmares 😂😂
