Nice video, Bill. Of course, you know that I will take Viking over pretty much any other line, although I like the new Celebrity ships a lot and Oceania was very good last Christmas. Will have a better comparison when we do our 19 day Baltic cruise with Viking this June and a 20 day Med with Oceania's new Vista next September.
We're doing our first Oceania (Riviera ship) cruise next November, 11 days Barcelona to Istanbul. I'm looking forward to comparing the food on Oceania with Viking. But even without having cruised on Oceania I'm leaning that way because I like to spend a little time each night at the craps table! What do you like better about Viking?
@@billbernstein5116 I like Viking better because of the excursions, the ship is always just immaculate, the service in all aspects has always been top notch. The food on Viking is comparable to Oceania although not as many specialty restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed the Riviera quite a bit at Christmas and New Years, but, but, overall, prefer Viking. I also like that Viking is adults only and since I don't do the casino, then I don't miss it on Viking.
@@loumello8813 On one of my videos I mention that the restaurant manager on the Viking Sky on the Adriatic remembered us from a cruise nine months earlier on the same ship, around Iceland! That was pretty impressive.
@@loumello8813 Are you going on Gary's group cruise? Although I gave the deposit, I found out that on April 8, 2024 there is a total solar eclipse that will be visible in Dallas (and through a large path in the US). So I'll lose the money. Pretty irritating that booking in the UK is like that. I knew that, of course, but didn't expect to cancel.
Much more on Viking is at no extra cost: Wi-Fi, self-service laundries, beer, wine, soft drinks, specialty restaurants, 24 hour room service, excursions, all balcony cabins, no art auctions, no photographers, no children, a very reasonable cost spirits package, and more. We've done three cruises with them in five years and expect to do a fourth soon, all in Penthouse Veranda cabins which is more than adequate space for two.
Done both and Neptune suite is sooooo much better. Love it and have done two different HAL neptunes. No contest
Looking forward to cruise from
Vancouver to Alaska on Holland
American.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

@@billbernstein5116 I had the same thing with one of the wine sommeliers from one Viking ship to another about a year or so later.

You forgot one of the big pluses of Viking: no kids!
You're right about that! Nice and quiet.
