UNC Children's is the first 'Level 1' Pediatric Trauma Center in the Triangle

- The American College of Surgeons has recognized UNC Hospitals as a Level I pediatric trauma center, making N.C. Children's Hospital home to one of only five Level I pediatric trauma centers in the Southeast! As a Level I pediatric trauma center, UNC Children's has the expertise, technology and highly trained personnel necessary to treat critically injured children from the moment they arrive until the day of discharge-and beyond. And when seconds count, this preparedness and medical expertise can literally mean the difference between life and death.
One of my friends was airlifted to UNC hospital last year after being involved in a very bad accident. The hospital literally saved his life and he is doing much better today. Also, I'm very proud to call this my school
UNC saved my life by diagnosing me with a disease that almost killed me in 2015, a case so uncommon only one other was seen at the hospital; and that patient lost the battle. They also discovered I had FSGS(kidney disease) which is rare and enrolled me in a study to figure out more about the disease. They aren't lying when they say they "have everything you need here." Doctors that are willing to invest their own personal time to figure out what's wrong with you are extremely hard to find, they have something special there.
That's incredibly and I'm glad that you went there. They likely had to do an M&M (Morbidity and Mortality) conference after losing their first patient to FSGS. It really helps out when someone else, like yourself, comes in and they're now able to quickly realize what's wrong and how to treat it.
I love this hospital I had scoliosis I had my surgery here at this very hospital, nurses and doctors helped me just amazing
