- A look at Billie Piper's short-lived pop career, which ran from 1998-2000. As a solo female Billie achieved 3 UK no.1 singles and 2 top 20 albums. This fan documentary celebrates the wonderful pop music from Billie's underrated discography plus a look at her seamless transition into an award-winning actress.
That footage of her in the studio is amazing! I know she’s ashamed of her pop career (she felt like she was an actor playing a popstar) but she really had the chops. Her live performances were on par with Britney, her tone/vocals were always great, dancing was great. She was a true popstar
Honey to the Bee seemed to have been Billie at her most authentic. Not a sample from other songs or a convoluted pop anthem. Day & Night was definitely her best music video and fantastically "cool" at the time. It raised her up to stand right next to the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. She did good and was smart enough to know when to get out of the pop singing scene before burning out or fading away. She remains a class act!
I really only know about Billie Piper because of her role as Rose Tyler in Doctor Who and learning about a decade later that she’s a pop singer. Now I think it’s safe to say I’m a fan.
Day & night is poptastic, life of a popstar looks like fun, but it's not always just fun, there's always a dark side, especially if you are being manufactured.
I am one of the lucky ones who found you at the beginning of your career as a pop star and I was utterly charmed.

It's easy to forget that Billie had a pop career. Comparing Billie the popstar and Billie the actress side by side, are two completely different entities. She's done a good job distancing her singing career. However, Day & Night is a bop and I still find myself listening to it now and then.
She wasn't as big here in America as she was in the UK, so had no idea she released 2 albums! I fell in love with "Because We Want To"
Walk of Life was her best song! Loved a bit of Billie

I know she'd rather forget about this chapter of her life, but she had bops. Day and Night and Something Deep Inside are pop gems. It was obvious she was unhappy and her health was deteriorating. It is crazy that 5ive/Richie stans booed and stalked her
LOVE BILLIE! I went on holiday and before I went I’d heard her first single and I thought that’s a number 1… sure enough I came back and she was top of the charts!
I remember she came to our school as part of a Radio 1 competition. It was very intense when she was signing photographs. But a great experience nonetheless, then she went off and came back with a huge image change. Loved Billie!

I recently discovered her through Doctor Who as well. Billie wrote an amazing autobiography that is a great read. She's lived a lot of life and is brilliant in so many ways, yet she seems so down to earth and real. I've found I've been able to relate to her in quite a few areas of her life. I'm in no way famous, but in a lot of other areas such as moving out at a young age, pushing family and friends away, anorexia, loving drama class and performing, her shy sort of anxious persona, her humor (she cracks me up), age etc. Honestly she sounds like an amazing person, great friend, and someone I'd really get along with.

I literally spent $36 on her second album in rome when I lived there. Hate that she hates her pop.
5:05 billie was right! that mix is better, in fact, a lot of that album has r&b roots just popped up.

Which remix of "She Wants You" became a hit in the U.S.? I was too young to go to clubs, but I do remember seeing "Honey to the Bee" on TRL and perhaps recall seeing her appear on TRL to promote it.

Was the original demo version of Because We Want To ever released on promo? Checked Discogs but couldn't see anything.
I think there’s the more R&B mix (which I post in that video) which is closer to the demo than the final single version. I’m not sure if that’s exactly the original demo though.
