One thing I always wondered. I thought Zoamelgustar wasn't real, but Phibrizzo said he spared Martina out of respect for Zoamelgustar. Was he just mocking her or is Zoamelgustar actually real?
Phibrizzo was mocking her. The whole point of the Zoamelgustar gag is that Martina made this creature up, as if there weren't enough _real_ Mazoku around already.
It wasn’t real, so yes he was mocking her, but at the same time they’ve also explained how concentrated faith will or believes does make it real, that’s why the part of her casting a curse using zoam ‘s power worked on Lina, so in a sense it was real because she believed in it so much for so long, her faith gave it power
The tone of Phibrizzo's voice during the delivery of the line "Out of respect for Zoamelgustar" implies heavy sarcasm. It's hard to pick out if you're not a native speaker of sarcasm. 😅 Zoamelgustar is not a real mazoku/monster in any way. Yes, Martina's faith and belief in him is strong and was strong enough to put a curse on Lina, but she's not strong enough to manifest a new Mazoku into the universe alone with her faith.
