  • Joe Dumars was the good guy amongst the ''Bad Boys''. He is someone who will always be respected by his peers, due to his skills and acomplishments on the court, but also his class and honour off the court. Joe is a walking role model, proof of that is the nba sportsmanship award that is named after him. Not very flashy, but very effective and succesfull, that's how he played the game, and the Pistons fans are happy about that, because Dumars helped Detroit win 2 nba titles back to back.

    Interesting to note, when he knew his shot was a certain he’d back off into defence but when it was a line call he’d rush for the rebound. That’s a good lesson for any young basketball player, always look for what happens next and how you can contribute for your team.

    I have a greater appreciation for how Dumars and Thomas played together. If one was hot the other fed him the ball. Consummate teammates! That’s how you win championships!
    And notice how Rodman (then with Chicago) let him into the lane and score. 😉 Bad Boys for Life!

    Isiah Lord Thomas HOF. Vinnie Johnson (the microwave) one of the best 6th men ever. Quiet Joe Dumars HOF. Playing the Pistons in those days was a nightmare.
    The late 1980s was the best NBA basketball I have ever seen. Joe Dumars was deadly on both sides of the ball and a class act besides. There is a reason the NBA sportsmanship award is called the Joe Dumars Award. There is a reason that Joe Dumars is the executive vice president of the NBA.

      Isiah Thomas made a video where he compares Devin Booker to Dumars. Dumas is a much better defender then Lillard and is not as aggressive. I think his best comparison is Desmond Bane but a better playmaker.

      @@bdww4072Desmond Bane? Dude wtf? Stop it. ✋️

    • @bdww4072
      @bdww4072 8 дней назад

      @@nothingnothing7648You are misunderstanding me. I wasn't saying that Desmond Bane has reached Dumars level (although statistically he has, I don't think he's there yet) or is as good as Dumars was.
      What I was saying is that his play style is similar. They are both combo guards (Bane has been playing PG with Ja hurt) who are/were the best defensive guards on their team and they both are incredibly smart off ball.
      For his time, Dumars was a great 3 point shooter but Bane is already one of the best 3 point shooters ever with how deadly accurate he's been on high volume.
      Bane has a long way before he reaches Dumars status of longevity and greatness but he has been really really good so far.
      When OP said he played like Lillard that is the person you should have responded to because their play style is NOTHING alike.
      Dumars was not a ball dominant high volume shooter that primarily shoots step backs.
      If you watch basketball and watch the Grizzlies you would understand what I'm saying but If you are just going by accolades or name status then you would be right to question me.

  • @nothingnothing7648

    Dumars was a baaaaaad man. Someone should have to be removed from that top 75 is he ain't included.
