Just want to thank you. I only do the Sunday through Thursday NYT because i "felt" Saturday and Friday were beyond my reach. The way you just dissected this Saturday puzzle in a practical manner gave me the confidence to apply the same style. I just did Friday's puzzle (May 17th) and solved it in 32:40. Im honestly shocked. I truly thank you! You are very talented in both puzzle solving and delivery of explanations. I wish you nothing but success and happiness!
Very good solve, well done! Satisfying to see you get those long crosses early!
There is nothing better than Chris typing in good ole Yoko ONO. The whole "Official female solo artist of the New York Times" thing cracks my wife and me up every time!! 🤣
Wow, I didn’t get very far into this solve before I got completely stuck. But I did get Victoria’s Secret immediately, I hope that doesn’t say too much about me….
I enjoyed this one. I wish the difficulty was better balanced between the south and north half. I got stuck on the IMARETS / URIE cross for long time. And also forgot how to spell celibate
You were close with alpaca for the animal in 1D, as the vicuña is a cousin. FYI, it is pronounced vicunya due to the ñ which is obviously not in the grid
This one wasn’t too bad, but that NW corner ruined me. I misspelled celibacy, which didn’t help with the VICUÑA / URIE cross.
The whole NW corner was terrible for me
Yep, that was the toughest part of the puzzle, but very "approachable" as Chris would say. Close to a PB for me.
