Who else understands what his trying to say in this song ? Once upon a time there was in town called ilu orita where peace reigns …in some trybes, their customs states that a man must marry his wife as a virgin… but when awero got married to her husband, she has lost her virginity to another man in another town who raped her, so after her marriage her husband knew she’s wasn’t a virgin anymore, then he called the attention of the elders, that’s when they knew that she was raped by a man from another village that’s when the two villages began to fight each others and awero tried to commit suicide but later but they saw her and consoled her , she got married to another man again and peace begin to reign in ilu orita again I don’t know who else know this story but thanks to beautiful Nubia for such a beautiful song and thanks to my brother for telling me the story 😊❤

Ikoko Akufo, theme song for the movie Narrow Path by Tunde Kelani one of Africa's greatest movie makers. The story of a beautiful African girl who contrary to custom lost her virginity b4 marriage thereby bringing shame not only to her family but also to the entire village.
There are a lot of misconceptions/myth about such belief that have ruined so many ladies, I just think its an unfortunate judgement on women, if we judge the girl child because she didn't bleed on her wedding night, how about the guys deflowering them. Should have been a balance practice
I miss my grandma so much 😭💔 cuz dis one of her best songs when she was alive 💔 continue to rest in perfect peace grandma 💙❤️ I love and miss you so much
