I like the outdoor format and free wheeling discussion. Pakistan being a longitudinal country with multi-climatic zones is an important observation. Good interview
Partition was probably necessary. Our side of the Radcliffe line would have suffered the same fate as Pakistan if those highly radicalized had not split off. We have enough problems with the ones that stayed.
I have great respect for Mr. Desiraju , bur I disagree on a few points 1. Religious incompatibility was the reason for partition .2. Partition was a good thing . Just imagine the strength of muslim population in Bharat if there was no partition ! 3. The reaso Pakistan is in the state it is in is their Extreme religious ideology and anti education policies .
@@gautamdesiraju9717 Has anything drastically changed in Pakistan that warrants a rethink? No, nothing of significance has occurred. The pigsty remains as such & the pork-loving Chinese are feasting on jalal pork delivered via CPEC.
Nice people but far separated from reality. In retrospect, partition was OK. Otherwise most of Bharat would have become 90% muslims due to riots, abduction and conversions. The whole area must have become a giant pakistan where there would have been no humanity, no womens rights, no chandrayan, no progress, no temples, no music, no dancing, no freedom, no democracy, no economy, no education and so on.

I think professor & viewers won’t see that happening in their life time 😅
2031 = 1971, May the professor live long after 2031.
Pakistan will survive till 2047.
Lol. They are dying 24/7
This Professor is not one who seems to have focused his academics on Indo Pak issues . so wondering why he is in this podcast.
Wanna change your opinion?😅
The distinguished professor has engaged in "wishful thinking" on several topics.
Why do you say this?
