    Hi and thanks for reviewing our gear. Please let whoever buys the stack know that they were produced back in 2021 and you purchased them pre-owned. When folks buy our previous demo units or pre-owns, they can always send them in for repair. We fix for free, and the only cost is round trip shipping. Thanks again-Sherri

    The unrelated topic is a nice addition in the end. I like the nice and quick review too.

    I would recommend that you keep the J2 DAC and upgrade its power supply with iFi iPower X. Combine it with other headphone Amp, I personally like Schiit Asgard (without the built-in DAC). I have never purchased a complete stack, I usually upgrade one component at a time, so my systems are mix and match but they sound good. That is why I recommend this approach.

    Great review! Looking forward to the modi multibit review.
    If you get a chance you should check out the aune Flamingo Tube DAC. Looks very interesting.

    You have a metal nut just rolling around in a box full of circuits, where that metal nut can literally short the board?
    You are one daring man...or a man that doesn't understand one metal nut can ruin your whole computer.

    On the topic of switching sample rates. Bit perfect playback is the way to go. It skips destructive resampling that is done by the operating system mixer by skipping the OS software mixer completely. On windows with an ASIO driver the DAC switches to the sample rate of each track and plays it back completely unaltered. I use roon+ASIO on windows. This is an important part of managing your digital signal chain that I don't see talked about on audio hobby RUclips. I feel pretty strongly that this is an important part of the digital audio experience. Until you have bit perfect playback you have not experienced high resolution audio. I may film a video about it soon to share.

    • @ahuesphoto
      @ahuesphoto 2 года назад +1

      Interesting, I didn't know about this; I usually select the highest bit rate available on the Control Panel and didn't pay much attention to ASIO drivers of my sound card. Thanks for your comment!

    Hi, did u notice a difference in SQ between balanced and unbalanced performance?

      I don’t remember anything standing out too much in that regard.

    Hi there buddy. I have a Samsung TV that I’m using to steam at the moment into a amp. Would you recommend this DAC to help improve the sound or would you recommend something els.
    Also see on there website the 3 chip options. Witch one do you recommend.

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  2 года назад +1

      It would definitely work. Are you sure you don’t want something with a remote though? I use a Soncoz Sgd1, just because of the remote. Not sure about the chips, because I’ve only heard the one. I know cheap audio man just did a review of the new akm version. You might want to check that out.

    Hello, thanks for the review! How would you compare the E2 to the A90 from memory?

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  2 года назад +1

      The E2 is quite smooth and doesn't have the dynamics / power that the a90 has. Both are pretty neutral IMO, but the E2 just didn't give thing the same oof that I like to have. So, I'd probably give the nod to the a90 myself. The E2 also is balanced only, which is an annoyance for me because I try so much stuff. Both decent amps for their pricing.

    Got the Modius/Magnius stack, how would you compare the Geshelli?

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  2 года назад

      Mmm, been awhile since I heard that stack. From memory, I’d probably take the Schiit. I remember it being a little more engaging than I I found the Geshelli stuff. Plus you have SE too if you need it.

    Think they just started to restock the AKM version. So you have an option to choose between AKM and Sabre which is cool
    I'm in the middle of wanting to change my DAC. Which is your favourite under 500$? The one I have now is the SMSL M500mk2. It's great tbh. I just like to change once in a while.
    My amp is the Singxer SA-1

      @alexlandgren6596 2 года назад

      @@MrAyrit I have been leaning towards that one. Seen it on Ebay for 150USD. Also like the look of the geshelli and the AKM implementation is supposed to be really good. But I will probably just go with a used RU6 to see what R2R is all about

    • @MrAyrit

      This was the early model, so the ess chip. I want to say it was a 9028 or something like that, but I’d have to double check. Definitely not the akm version.

    I have a Topping E30 with an SMSL SP200 to power my HD 6XX and it's a lovely combo. I'm considering to sell my E30 and get something that sounds better/improved. (I UNDERSTAND. Once again, I UNDERSTAND that the amp and headphones will have the most change if I were to upgrade what I have now BUT there are people who enjoy this hobby and say that different dac's sound different from one another.) My question, could there be a noticeable difference in sound from the E30 to JNOG 2 or should I be looking at a different dac?

    • @MrAyrit
      @MrAyrit  Год назад +1

      I’d recommend an RU6. Compare that with the e30, and report back. Heck, I’ll send you one if you want .

      @@MrAyrit I like the travel size to the RU6 but I'd prefer something that's more box sized so I can stack it with my amp. I mainly listen to music at my computer desk anyways.

    Hey mister, I don't have an apple. What is this bit transfer rate? I've never had a deck but I'm going to get one by the people you reviewing what I do with a windows bit rate. How do I change that?

    • @MrAyrit

      Sorry, I don't really have access to a PC to try it. A quick google / youtube search would probably do the trick though.
