Honestly as a cool toned gal (the kind of cool that looks sick the moment a tiny bit of orange or warm tone is in a color), I don't mind the "death" colors. They're probably the sure-fire colours I could put on my eyes without worrying about how it looks. The problem is, I've already got quads, single shadows and other cheaper palettes that dupe this ND palette. Seems like a scam buying a grey monochromatic palette.
I think they should have added dark blue, pinky taupes, lilac and burgundy in this palette. There are too many redundant colours. Angelica, you are amazing at applying makeup!
With a palette that large I think it's a shame she didn't stretch the undertones more. There are blue-grays, purple-grays, brown-grays, warm and cool tone grays that could have produced very different eyelooks while still being gray tones. I completely agree that the mini is plenty because on the eye, all of those slightly different shades are going to look the exact same
As someonebwho loves smokey eyes and pairs gray with a lot of colors, this is more up my alley than expected. TBH, I don't get the complaints because so many "neutral" palettes are this but in brown instead.
I think it's because neutral browns usually lean into other colors too. You can have browns that lean into red, purple, and orange therefore they don't all create the same look. Then you can have warm browns and cool browns that create different looks. This is all grey. Grey upon grey upon grey and white. I'm not to fond of how natasha makes certain colors look different on her online photos of the palettes. I'm also not saying that you are wrong...just trying to explain why some people might complain about this.
Because all tones and shades of greys look the same on the eyes. When you blend out black eyeshadow, you can get dark grey to light grey with all shades of grey in between.
Excellent point. We want Patrick Ta Major Dimensions 1-3 over & over but people get get incensed over a little diversified variety. Greys are neutrals! & I’m so sick of hearing Colourpop comparisons. CP makes many a fine product in fact I got myself all 3 CP eyeliner sets for myself for Xmas & it’s gonna be mighty hard for me not to touch them til 12/25!!!!!! But there are blacks/greys in their palette && that’s where the story ends. I’m sorry that’s just me blowing’ smoke (lol sorry that was lame see what I did) I don’t mean to sound rude or mean! No1 likes a jerk. Just my own little humble opinions please don’t come for me!! 😮😮😮😊

Yeah, sadly ND promo swatches are very much like Pat McGrath’s-pretty but misleading. While I love both their formulas, I now always wait to see the palettes in person or watch a few reviews to get a better idea of the true shades and the effects of formulas that are multichromes or similar.
As someone who looks best in cool tones, I'm super excited for this palette. It's a lot of grey, but I will get so much use out of it. I always get the most compliments when I wear shades of grey. I'm so cool toned that I can only wear silver jewelry. It's like I, as a person, clash with gold. 😆Most palette's advertised as cool toned end up looking at least somewhat warm on my skin. This looks truly cool toned, so I'm all in. Already ordered mine from Ulta with a 20% off coupon. Really happy!
I'm with you - so glad they didn't spoilt it by slapping a warm tone in amongst the greys. They so often do that and i always find that shade goes totally untouched. And then most reviewers use those warmer tones as they don't favour greys so much. This selectionn looks lovely. though a pop of blue, green or purple would have been welcome (for me, rather than the pink) but I have lots of palettes with those, so this will get even more use as I do a base set up with this... then wheel in a bright to feature. Can't wait for mine to get here.
I ordered this and as a super icy-fair skintone I got many colors looking literally different, one showed pink, another one showed lavender, the beje looked legit BROWN on me and I'm obsessed. Even the greysh blue looked legit a blue on me. I'm amused on how this palette turns herself into different colors on different skintone!
As soon as you said the "pink" shades weren't really pink, this become an easy pass. 😂I'm also not a gray-loving person so I had strong doubts to begin with. I was hoping there were at least a few other shades to still make it desirable for me.
as an absolute lover of gray-scale and moody looks i can say with conviction that the full palette provides NO new possibilities to play around. I love a good specific black shadow but these are all so similar
I am not sure if I’ll get this now. I do love silvers, but I hated how similar the Bronze was. The pinks in the promo made this seem a bit better. I REALLY would have loved some lavender shimmers in here.

When they announced a midi Xenon, I was picturing graphite and high-shine metallics, but also maybe a neon or a couple super intense sci-fi colors (purple, acid green, etc). This had the potential for a very out-there cyberpunk vibe, and it's too bad - but not at all surprising - that they went in this direction.
Angie, you truly have a gift!! I dont care what anyone says (idk if anyone has ever said this about you per se), figuratively speaking, you can create beautiful looks!! Doesnt matter if youre using rock dust, or colorful pigments!! BRAVO 👏
I think it’s about the different finishes because for shade variation I totally agree. The photos look completely different from what it looks like here. The shade descriptions sound so pretty but if I purchased this I’d be very disappointed when it arrived. Not to mention that if you have a black and a white in a palette you can mix any shade of grey you want just using those two shades. It’s a missed opportunity not to expand the color story of the pink and silver/taupe the two sparkle shades with somewhat of a color. Any color can be mixed with grey to diversify a grayscale. I hope she gos that route when she expands the mini starlet into a midi! The best thing about this new xenon is all the contrast because her stories can be mid tone shade heavy. She just needs to be careful to still add some in between shades.
As a very cool toned person, this palette is really incredible! Warm shades like golds , yellows, rusts and oranges make me look sick. I think I might buy this!!!

Would love to see you combine this palette with (warm) colors, as I would love to use this palette as a companion palette. Not a fan of just black, white and grey either. Though both eyes look stunning as always! 🤍🩶
I think for people with multiple ND palettes, if you were to rearrange this with the I Need a Nude you could put together the perfect neutral palette with smokey eye options all in one. Like just swap 5 of these shades with the more repetitive ones in the I Need a Nude and you’ve got the best of both worlds 🎉

You should google the shades of grey oil paint set. It’s a perfect example of doing a grey, black color scheme with huge variety of under tones, shades etc and I wish the xenon palette was more like that. Having grey beiges, grey reds, grey purples and blues would be amazing.
I got my palette today. I was so excited to receive it. I got to use $30 in rewards from her website so I paid $39. I feel like it's not a good palette- for my ability. I will keep trying. Companion palette ❤
The goths (me)! Everyone says just buy ColourPop Blowin Smoke but I love ND's cream to powder shadows and I can use many of the shades as grey or black contour.
She made it look like it had pinks and browns in the promo photo. Lots of people will be dissatisfied...probably including myself considering I ordered before any videos were out.
I will! I’ll do a lot of diff lewks: Smoky eye Glam Marilyn Monroe Emo/goth Lived-in-rock-&-roll & just to push myself out of my comfort zone & iam a natasha stan! She is so creative. I didn’t think she was gonna top mini Triochrome & so soon 🔜 !!! but here we go! I can always use as a companion palette! Pair it w/ something indie! Angie, you are absolutely correct: these shadows will look absolutely different on you than they will look on someone with very cool undertones (I have alabaster cool toned skin and grey/white hair/grey eyes). I am reading the comments of people saying this isn't usable for them or the colors are so redundant, but if you have TRUE cool undertones, these colors for us are like the Glam or I Need a Nude palette colors are for people with warm toned skin. These are different shades of our neutral colors. I have given away SO many of my ND palettes to my warm skinned daughter (think Merida or Ariel), because all the palettes people say are cool toned are NOT. Taupe, brown, and gold are not not a cool colors, lol! Silver, grey, and black are cool colors. When I tried to use Glam, Bronze, Star, Sunrise, Zendo - they all made me look sick so I gave them to my daughter! I am thrilled for this Xenon palette and this will be a good neutral palette for those of us with very cool undertones!! ❤

I think that if you love rainbow palettes they are deffo not all the same, to me there are so many different ways to do an orange :) but the same if you love grey, to me (and on me) they are all the same, but if you love them they all seem needed :)
I love all makeup......it makes me happy. I took live in Texas and we don't really have freezing cold weather. But these greys are so beautiful. They kind of remind me of those Glamlite horror palettes that are coming out. Sometimes life is grey. I wish it was all colorful rainbows I love me a good rainbow palette.

I really was soo freaking excited for this new release, the color-combination that was being shown in the promo-pics had me totally in love with the palette, I was 1000% sure that I need to have it… but seeing it now I’m happy that I waited for reviews, I just wish she had made the palette exactly like it was shown in the pictures… 😢

Those colors you’re asking for are literally on each palette that ND has already launched. No one ever said that this grey palette has to be use on his own.
I have cool, pink undertones to my skin and I’m super excited for this one. I’m thinking I’ll pick this and the I need a Nude palette up. I think they’d work beautifully together.
I bought this because I LOVE grays, and it's Natasha Denona's first true, large cool toned palette. I'm cool toned and fair so there should be variation on my skin tone as well, plus I already seen the difference owning a few other gray leaning palettes. All that said, I agree I wish she'd have included a little more variation. A more purple leaning gray, a little blue, and taupe would have been fun. Like maybe give me a reason to own this AND the mini -- I skipped buying the mini because it looked clear that I could get that same look from this one just from the product photos. I'm eager to get this one though, and have plenty of colors from other palettes or singles I can mix this with too.
They do look very similar. I hadn’t thought they’d look that much alike once you put them on. You do look super pretty, though! I remember sometime in the past liking gray eyeshadow. Maybe late teens/early 20s (which would mean late 80s/early 90s). I just ordered ND I need a nude with my 20% off coupon from ulta! I know, so basic, but totally me! I’m excited! This was a really smart and informative video. I already ordered it from ulta with a 20% coupon I had that was good for part of the release date. But if I didn’t have that coupon and I watched this video, I would have passed. The addition of navy, and lavender that you mentioned would have been most welcome for this. This will end up being a palette I use with other palette. Thanks for the great info and look ideas.
At first, I was excited because I love cool tones however don't think I will buy it. The shades are just too similar, half of the palette seems redundant. This really could have needed some taupes, mauves or even more colorful shades like blue, green and pink. Imagine this palette with actual pinks in it, stunning 🤩
I've got a cool undertone to my skin so these would pull very blue on me, so I'm glad I've seen your video 🎉🎉 I learned that from my colourpop Smoke Show palette and thankfully it didn't break the bank 👍👍

just came back bc I was having difficulty with one of the shimmers & now I see why-your spray trick is exactly what I need. Iwas trying to put it on top of all the matte. It looked pretty, but that will make it more intense.

Yessss I’m not picking this up but I was def excited to see your thoughts on it!! ❤❤ This is such a literal translation of the mini Xenon and then the mini Triochrome is so differnt from the regular Triochrome palette that it's kinda confusing to the regular consumer. The Yucca and My Dream palettes are still my favorites, and this palette does have a need in her line, but I def don't need it lol.
It makes my eyes feel funny when I look at the pallette. Makes me feel a bit like I need to blink because it's giving me a headache. I've never had that looking at a colour story before! Looks lovely on your eyes but really does make me feel really uncomfortable when I try to focus on the whole pallette 😮xxx
As much as I agree with you about grey shadows, the cool thing you did was demonstrate what you can do to change the eye shape. More tips like this on the two different eye looks would be so helpful.

These are my tones! I'm so excited... I'm so cool-toned and it's so rare to find a genuinely cool-toned palette. I think it will pair with the Beauty Bay Metamorphic palette very well...that one doesn't have many deepening shades and no black.

Ha! i acutally wanted greyscale so I am excited. I never wanted to get the J* Cremated, so this scratches my itch. Pretty much all I wear- I guess I'll see when I get it. I have Color Pop's blowing smoke, but me & the Colorpop's formula just don't' get along, I know people love it. Plus, I used your code on ND's site the other day, so it helped & the shipping was free. (Seriously, I will search for codes for makeup, nail, and hair on You Tube before I buy anything- I didn't know you had ND but since I watch you a lot, I am glad you did) I actually haven't watched any makeup videos in a couple of weeks, so I am happy to come back to see you use it. When you are no overwhelmed with new releases I'd love at tutorial on doing a halo without making the inner eye a mess and look so close together if that makes sense. I'll probably add some darker pink to one of my looks. Isn't that the fun of makeup?
Mid tone greys look awful on me (I’m black so mid grey literally looks like my skin is dry) - but even in general this palette is baffling in its uniformity of colour story. Also the 2nd ND midi palette in a row which it would be impossible to make work for my skin (I need a nude is too light for me). Anyway at least I’m saving my coins!
For people that have some of her other midi palettes, I think it would be helpful to customize this by taking some pops of color or some browns/taupes from those and switch them out with some of the greys to give more versatility to this palette.
Awesome review. I was going to buy the mini but then heard about the midi and decided to wait and see. I did think it looked to grey for me. I have just ordered the mini xenon. I don’t need the midi. Yucca is my favourite ND too it’s just pure fun 🤩
To me this is going to a be a great buy to use as a sister pallet to some of her more colorful pallets it can give a deep cool look to lots of her other colorful shades and expand that range for someone. Mine came in days ago but I’ve been swamped and haven’t been able to review it yet.

The shade descriptions sound so pretty but if I purchased this I’d be very disappointed when it arrived. Not to mention that if you have a black and a white in a palette you can mix any shade of grey you want just using those two shades.
It’s a missed opportunity not to expand the color story of the pink and silver/taupe the two sparkle shades with somewhat of a color. Any color can be mixed with grey to diversify a grayscale. I hope she gos that route when she expands the mini starlet into a midi! The best thing about this new xenon is all the contrast because her stories can be mid tone shade heavy. She just needs to be careful to still add some in between shades.
As a very cool toned person, this palette is really incredible! Warm shades like golds , yellows, rusts and oranges make me look sick. I think I might buy this!!!
I was excitedly waiting for this review! I might not get this palette but I hope she keeps doing cool tones for a while. I want to see a lilac lavender palette from her. I'm in serious need for real cool toned palettes.
Would love to see you combine this palette with (warm) colors, as I would love to use this palette as a companion palette. Not a fan of just black, white and grey either. Though both eyes look stunning as always! 🤍🩶
I think for people with multiple ND palettes, if you were to rearrange this with the I Need a Nude you could put together the perfect neutral palette with smokey eye options all in one. Like just swap 5 of these shades with the more repetitive ones in the I Need a Nude and you’ve got the best of both worlds 🎉

When the nude palette didn't lean as cool as I was expecting, I bought the BPerfect Gravity palette and the Beauty Beauty Metamorphic palette.
Then this launched and I was still thinking of getting it, until i watched your video, and I'm so glad I did.
I'm happier with the two I bought than I would've been with this one. 💜
You should google the shades of grey oil paint set. It’s a perfect example of doing a grey, black color scheme with huge variety of under tones, shades etc and I wish the xenon palette was more like that. Having grey beiges, grey reds, grey purples and blues would be amazing.
I got my palette today.
I was so excited to receive it. I got to use $30 in rewards from her website so I paid $39. I feel like it's not a good palette- for my ability. I will keep trying. Companion palette ❤
I was thrilled to receive this palette. I'm such a basic lady when it comes to shadows - I just about died when the neutral palette was released.
Curious as to how many people would really use this with enough regularity to justify a midi. This colour story is pretty but feels quad-worthy to me.
The goths (me)! Everyone says just buy ColourPop Blowin Smoke but I love ND's cream to powder shadows and I can use many of the shades as grey or black contour.
She made it look like it had pinks and browns in the promo photo. Lots of people will be dissatisfied...probably including myself considering I ordered before any videos were out.

Angie, you are absolutely correct: these shadows will look absolutely different on you than they will look on someone with very cool undertones (I have alabaster cool toned skin and grey/white hair/grey eyes). I am reading the comments of people saying this isn't usable for them or the colors are so redundant, but if you have TRUE cool undertones, these colors for us are like the Glam or I Need a Nude palette colors are for people with warm toned skin. These are different shades of our neutral colors. I have given away SO many of my ND palettes to my warm skinned daughter (think Merida or Ariel), because all the palettes people say are cool toned are NOT. Taupe, brown, and gold are not not a cool colors, lol! Silver, grey, and black are cool colors. When I tried to use Glam, Bronze, Star, Sunrise, Zendo - they all made me look sick so I gave them to my daughter! I am thrilled for this Xenon palette and this will be a good neutral palette for those of us with very cool undertones!! ❤
Black/brown/greyscale eye shadow isn’t for me (yes I’m an alien 👽) but that packaging is so sleek and beautiful 🖤

I love that shes expanding her midi range but i don't think xenon was the one that needed expanding. Im holding out for midi circo loco or midi triochrome tho

I think that if you love rainbow palettes they are deffo not all the same, to me there are so many different ways to do an orange :) but the same if you love grey, to me (and on me) they are all the same, but if you love them they all seem needed :)
I love all makeup......it makes me happy. I took live in Texas and we don't really have freezing cold weather. But these greys are so beautiful. They kind of remind me of those Glamlite horror palettes that are coming out. Sometimes life is grey. I wish it was all colorful rainbows I love me a good rainbow palette.

I really was soo freaking excited for this new release, the color-combination that was being shown in the promo-pics had me totally in love with the palette, I was 1000% sure that I need to have it… but seeing it now I’m happy that I waited for reviews, I just wish she had made the palette exactly like it was shown in the pictures… 😢

Those colors you’re asking for are literally on each palette that ND has already launched. No one ever said that this grey palette has to be use on his own.
I have cool, pink undertones to my skin and I’m super excited for this one. I’m thinking I’ll pick this and the I need a Nude palette up. I think they’d work beautifully together.
I bought this because I LOVE grays, and it's Natasha Denona's first true, large cool toned palette. I'm cool toned and fair so there should be variation on my skin tone as well, plus I already seen the difference owning a few other gray leaning palettes. All that said, I agree I wish she'd have included a little more variation. A more purple leaning gray, a little blue, and taupe would have been fun. Like maybe give me a reason to own this AND the mini -- I skipped buying the mini because it looked clear that I could get that same look from this one just from the product photos. I'm eager to get this one though, and have plenty of colors from other palettes or singles I can mix this with too.
They do look very similar. I hadn’t thought they’d look that much alike once you put them on. You do look super pretty, though! I remember sometime in the past liking gray eyeshadow. Maybe late teens/early 20s (which would mean late 80s/early 90s). I just ordered ND I need a nude with my 20% off coupon from ulta! I know, so basic, but totally me! I’m excited! Hopefully it makes it here in one piece!

This was a really smart and informative video. I already ordered it from ulta with a 20% coupon I had that was good for part of the release date. But if I didn’t have that coupon and I watched this video, I would have passed. The addition of navy, and lavender that you mentioned would have been most welcome for this. This will end up being a palette I use with other palette. Thanks for the great info and look ideas.

At first, I was excited because I love cool tones however don't think I will buy it. The shades are just too similar, half of the palette seems redundant. This really could have needed some taupes, mauves or even more colorful shades like blue, green and pink. Imagine this palette with actual pinks in it, stunning 🤩
I've got a cool undertone to my skin so these would pull very blue on me, so I'm glad I've seen your video 🎉🎉 I learned that from my colourpop Smoke Show palette and thankfully it didn't break the bank 👍👍

just came back bc I was having difficulty with one of the shimmers & now I see why-your spray trick is exactly what I need. Iwas trying to put it on top of all the matte. It looked pretty, but that will make it more intense.

Yessss I’m not picking this up but I was def excited to see your thoughts on it!! ❤❤ This is such a literal translation of the mini Xenon and then the mini Triochrome is so differnt from the regular Triochrome palette that it's kinda confusing to the regular consumer. The Yucca and My Dream palettes are still my favorites, and this palette does have a need in her line, but I def don't need it lol.
It makes my eyes feel funny when I look at the pallette. Makes me feel a bit like I need to blink because it's giving me a headache. I've never had that looking at a colour story before! Looks lovely on your eyes but really does make me feel really uncomfortable when I try to focus on the whole pallette 😮xxx
So glad to see it better. I also thought it had a couple of coloured greys. I'm good without this one. Still loving the last couple of palettes.
As much as I agree with you about grey shadows, the cool thing you did was demonstrate what you can do to change the eye shape. More tips like this on the two different eye looks would be so helpful.

Snirt is that combination of snow and dirt, which is common at the end of the snow season, or if it hasn't snowed in awhile.
I feel like I personally would only use this in October for spooky looks lol but it is a beautiful palette! I love that Natasha caters to so many different people 🖤🤍 However... your swatches are making me want it 😆🤣 it's a stunning palette!!

These are my tones! I'm so excited... I'm so cool-toned and it's so rare to find a genuinely cool-toned palette. I think it will pair with the Beauty Bay Metamorphic palette very well...that one doesn't have many deepening shades and no black.
I love that you do your makeup for fun it’s so refreshing. So many beauty influencers are neutral lovers (no shade) and tend to avoid colorful palettes.
Ha! i acutally wanted greyscale so I am excited. I never wanted to get the J* Cremated, so this scratches my itch. Pretty much all I wear- I guess I'll see when I get it. I have Color Pop's blowing smoke, but me & the Colorpop's formula just don't' get along, I know people love it. Plus, I used your code on ND's site the other day, so it helped & the shipping was free. (Seriously, I will search for codes for makeup, nail, and hair on You Tube before I buy anything- I didn't know you had ND but since I watch you a lot, I am glad you did) I actually haven't watched any makeup videos in a couple of weeks, so I am happy to come back to see you use it. When you are no overwhelmed with new releases I'd love at tutorial on doing a halo without making the inner eye a mess and look so close together if that makes sense. I'll probably add some darker pink to one of my looks. Isn't that the fun of makeup?

Mid tone greys look awful on me (I’m black so mid grey literally looks like my skin is dry) - but even in general this palette is baffling in its uniformity of colour story. Also the 2nd ND midi palette in a row which it would be impossible to make work for my skin (I need a nude is too light for me). Anyway at least I’m saving my coins!

For people that have some of her other midi palettes, I think it would be helpful to customize this by taking some pops of color or some browns/taupes from those and switch them out with some of the greys to give more versatility to this palette.

To me this is going to a be a great buy to use as a sister pallet to some of her more colorful pallets it can give a deep cool look to lots of her other colorful shades and expand that range for someone. Mine came in days ago but I’ve been swamped and haven’t been able to review it yet.
