Only 10 minutes in so I'm sure I'll have more to comment, but thanks for the shout out to Atheistic Witches 💖- and wow - two decades is a long time, glad you got free of that Logan ❤

Ah sure thing! We come in many, many flavors and I wish more content catered to (or even acknowledged) atheistic witches, and even agnostic witches, you know? And thank youuuu 💜💜💜

Everything you shared in your review sounds so affirming and kind, self kindness. it touched my heart
I watched MY OLD ASS on Prime last night and it resonates with your words today. Very very good

You know, it genuinely was such an affirming, kind, and loving read. Like having a late night conversation with an old friend by the fire, you know? I’ll have to that show up as Idk it, but it sounds like one I’d like to know!

Might want to check out the recent news on Neil Gaiman. They're cutting his current TV show short. Might be a good idea to check out why, to be aware. Thanks for the review. 😊

Hiya! Thanks for the tip. I learned he was yet another trash male a few weeks ago but totally forgot while recording. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Was all wrapped up in being excited about the idea of gods depending on us to keep them alive through stories to think better 😅 thanks for looking out though! I appreciate you 💜

I love your review especially regarding self empowerment and self belief, despite whatever group think doctrines at you about how to do things or what to believe. Ive been discovering my own witchy inner life but Ive kept away from formal which places because I want to keep it all as my inner landscape.

Aww thank you, Pamela! I’m glad it resonated. The book certainly resonated with me, just on those bases of self empowerment and choice of belief alone. Also that’s awesome that you’ve been having a lovely, private adventure with your own inner witchyness! People are so quick to hand us road maps, whether they’re honestly trying to help or harmfully trying to control, so I don’t blame you at all for keeping your journey to yourself. 💜

🤣🤣🤣 I swear, they’re what keeps me out of online witchcraft spaces. Zero patience or energy for that nonsense lol

I am so so glad these conversations are happening. I grew up Seventh-Day Adventist, a group that was birthed from the same social stew and time period as Jehovah’s Witness, just slightly different take-aways, but still doomsday focused and hyper-vigilant re: behavior (or even thoughts). Thank you so much for sharing the book and your experience, whenever I hear someone else share their experience with high control groups, it helps me understand my own ❤

Exact same sentiments about hearing others and their stories. Thank you for commenting with a piece of your own! I don’t know much about Seventh-Day Adventists, but thank you for putting them on my radar as another high-control religious group. I’ve heard very similar things about Southern Baptist and Mormon, as well. Back to you, though. I am so proud of you for surviving and building a lovely life for yourself! I hope you’re immensely proud of yourself as well, you strong, amazing person, you! 💜💜💜

@ thank you!!! I’m proud of you too, like you said in your video, leaving can be very precarious. Way to go us thriving 🥳

Awww thank you! And right? Considering how many people never leave and either stay diminished and ignorant, or just plain miserable and envious of people who do have freedoms and autonomy, it truly is amazing when any of us make it out. Glad to know there’s one more person in the world who did it 💜

This was an incredible review. Just so much of a personal touch, and despite our longtime friendship, I feel like I learnt something more about your experience. I imagine reading this book, while so wonderfully empowering, was still quite a challenging journey back to very real memories for you.
I’m truly with you when you discussed the need for witches to leave other witches be (when they aren’t seeking input) as long as it’s not appropriative or harmful. There is a lot of that behaviour being played out over and over still in facets of witchy, spiritual and wellness communities. Which is such a concern given that people may be entering more vulnerable from previous experiences. This book sounds like a wonderful balm towards navigating a new path for people who have lived some of this, so thank you for such a thorough review. I definitely know a few individuals who would value this. It also just sounds like an insightful read on a fellow witches😊 experience and approach. Love that he labels his opinion too 👌🏻🔥

Gahhh, why thank you my dearest 💜 I’m honestly shocked that there’s anything new for us to find out about each other 🤣 and yeahhh, it was a joy and also kind of taxing due to the cult shit. But! Totally a triumph still.
Hopefully the dogmatic witches calm down and sizzle out before too long. I don’t remember things being that way before the last handful of years, so I hope things can mellow out and become live-and-let-live again. Like I understand that the 2000s (and I’m sure prior) saw a ton of appropriation and spiritual bypassing, but I don’t think the current climate of rigidity, hostility, and condescending hot takes from edge lords is the ticket. I’d love to be more social in online witch spaces, but it’s just not worth the headache for me. So solitary witch it is lol. Now if said witchy community meant hanging out with Moss Matthey, a witch who seemingly lifts others up and encourages personal journeys and marching to the beat of your own tune? I would very much be down for an evening of that lol. Thanks for sharing your thoughts my goblin dearest 💜

@ we have a lot of similar feelings here (shocker I know 😂). I hope we get to something more connective and compassionate eventually. There’s definitely a healthy middle space to be had there.
