The best part of this song is the mix of hope and sadness. One on hand, he realizes that he's moving on from past hurts without feeling like things ever really worked out. But deep down he knows that the future can still be bright if he gives it a chance, he just has to take that chance.
This song takes me back a couple years to when I was a sophomore in college. I knew a girl from a summer job and always wished that we had ended up together. Obviously, we didn't, but sometimes I think back to that summer and wish I could just go back and be there again. But that's the thing, I can't. And I need to accept that and look ahead so that I am open to what the future has. I don't want to miss that. I just have to be willing to accept things for what they are and let go of a past that never was.

Akarsh Rastogi innerspeaker is my favorite, Lonerism second, and then Currents, and The Slow Rush I only like Tomorrow’s Dust, and One More Year, and Breathe Deeper, it’s the only Tame album where I don’t like the majority of the song’s.

This song feels like an 80s teen movie
I can definitely say that tame impala is very emotional for a good amount of people. last year (I was a freshman in high school), I fell in love for the first time with this wonderful girl and she introduced me to tame impala and I was hooked. within a month or two Spotify told me i was in the top one percent for tame impala listeners for the sheer amount of it I consumed daily haha. I remember around Christmas when i was off with my family I mailed her currents on vinyl as my Christmas gift and she loved it. but like all good things, our relationship had to end during quarantine. even though I was willing to do anything to make her happy and keep going she just lacked the communication and problem solving skills to continue. that was months ago but I still think about her every night and it makes me very very sad. and every time i listen to tame impala I feel like crying because it reminds me of the happiest time in my life with that girl. In fact this song was her very favorite. everything about that time in my life that made me happy is now gone and i just have to find something new to keep me going.
When a man turns into a sinp the girl will always always always walk away.

I listened to this song a few days ago on my ride back from a senior trip at my school that really caused me to reflect on my past and experience a moment of personal growth. Even though it is labeled as a breakup song, something I have never experienced, it still hit hard for me in a different way. It felt like a future was reaching out his hand telling me its time for a change in my life. To let go of past experiences and push forward. I've felt a lot of changes in my life since then
