I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (November 6), this was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "God Picked You!"
thank you peter for your sermons , without them i would be lost im my journey to become a pastor!!! i see you as my mentor !!! !and a wonderful mentor at that !!!
This is the second time I have heard this message today, from two different pastors❤️I really needed to hear this! God wanted me to hear this message and made sure I didn't miss out. God amazes me all the time!!!❤️❤️❤️
I've always really liked watching your sermons, Peter! It's not often that as a Catholic, I feel connected to Protestant preachers. I think you do a great job!
Amen. Almost didn't watch this one, started finding myself feeling jaded on the whole blessing topics. This thoroughly and completely helped me to understand this topic. Thank you Pastor Peter. I appreciate you and your beautiful wife tremendously. Praying for you three, Ollie too. God richly bless, protect, guide and touch you guys immensely. 🙏💕💖💖💖
Thank you, Peter, for answering that call of God to share His heart, with such a genuine anointing to serve and manifest God's beautiful love to His people. Loved your poem and was so blessed by your sermon. Your preaching is powerful!
Your a great preacher for one so young. May God use you there. The church green reminds me of what we used to have green carpet and windows. On a sunny day the choir looked been!
"You are chosen by the Father. You're redeemed by the Son. You are sealed by the Spirit, Our God, the three in one. To the praise of His glory is the theme of our song. From beginning to end He's loved you all along. He poured out His grace, He's called you His own. Adopted as children, you'll never be alone. You were bought with the price redeemed by His blood. Every sin washed away. Forgiveness like a flood. To call this a mystery, it goes without saying. Our union with Christ He won't be delaying. To all who believe, you're marked with a seal. You're filled with the Spirit; a guarantee that it's real. He's given us this promise. With Christ we are raised. Chosen, redeemed, sealed. Let His name be praised." -PETER FREY
Wonderful sermon. I honestly wasn't going to continue watching but I am so very glad I did. You touched on a topic I often forget. Your poem sums it up perfectly. Thank you for for blessing me with this video.
Thank you so very much and I love your poem at the end. It could be your own rap song. You explained a lot to me. Thank you again and God bless. Take care...........
Thank You Peter. This was what I needed to hear this morning.Your poem brought me tears. Please post the poem so I can read it as a reminder of His grace. Love and blessings to you and Mary,
Love your sermon! Words to remember- Chose- Redeemed- Sealed! I'm wondering what your studies and thoughts are on those who have yet to give their life to Jesus for total redemption/ forgiveness of Sin. Do you believe that Grace extends to those who are not believers yet?
I beg to differ from your interpretation of Eph1 verse 3- 4, in its historical and immediate context, it is not talking election in relation to soteriology. Note the word personal pronoun plural, blessed and chose "us" it actually refers to Paul and the apostles, instead of “us” as believers in Christ, instead the apostles was chosen by Jesus to serve his ministry from the foundation of the earth (John15:16). From verse 5 to 12 the "us" and "we" are the apostles too. But in this verse 13 there is a change of personal pronoun to "you" meaning the Gentiles ; quote "Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, " also alluding to Eph2:11-13 the uncircumcision and Eph3:5-6 the mystery. Any comments please. Thank you.
The antecedent is on the spiritual blessings for (whosoever) is already "in Him": adoption, to be holy and blameless in his sight. People misunderstand the "chosing" referring to salvation. The passage isn't referring to God's chosing individuals, but before the foundations of the world God pre-determined God's redemptive plan for "whosoever would believe in Him" (w=hether Jew or Gentile - mystery of the Gospel. The Jews felt they alone were the "Elect" - Pauls message was that God had planned for Gentiles to be a part of this inheritance (before the foundation of the world). Rom 1:16; Romans 11:24-26; Romans 16:24-26
