If there's one thing Liverpool fans learnt out of this is that they need to get rid of FSG. They need owners who are willing to pay high transfer fees AND high wages to the players. Liverpool at the moment have to sell players to get new players and in terms of salary they cannot even compete with the likes of Chelsea, City, United etc. - Liverpool cannot compete against Chelsea's 8 year contracts with massive money.

Ads is wrong that Lavia wasn’t on Chelsea radar until 72 hours ago, we bid for him last summer and the talk all summer has been we’d go for both him and Caicedo. Caicedo was the priority though but we’ve been honest with Lavia. Liverpool have dilly dallyed over £5-6 mil with Lavia and then made an astronomical bid for Caicedo making him seem like he was an after thought. Plus now he’s seen we’ve signed Caicedo and he wants to play alongside him.

Its depressing. I was interested to see how we would shape up after Fab and Hendo left, and after the weekend, I'm super worried for the season. Klopp's teams live and die by the press. The midfield that started on Sunday clearly had a massive Fabinho shaped hole in the middle. The rest of the team is working well, but the midfield cant press. Gakpo is not a good fit in midfield, cant really tackle. Mac Allister is out of position. We need a big CDM signing before the end of the window, and its hard to see where that's coming from. I hope there's something to these Madrid rumours. At least we have the money

    b) With Lavia... Poch. Poch made his name developing youth, and specifically, at Southampton. Lavia is at... Southampton. If his asked anyone around his club what they think, its quite likely they would have recommended Poch as someone who would be fantastic for him to work with.
