OMG I get kind of tired watching you do so many things but I just think it's mental knowing how many beautiful things can be made with mosaics. You are amazing. Thank you.
Never thought using MY Backyard as a way to make a picture. i have a flower farm in my spare time. should take pictures to see how to make into something pretty.. Thanks for your inspiration.
I Love where you hung your birdhouse! Perfect! It is so beautiful that the bluebirds will be fighting over who gets to move in. :). You have really inspired me to try a smalti landscape. Your back yard is gorgeous in the video and in the mosaic. :)
@@lijuanpr10 I would go with thinset mixed with a Mortar Admix to increase strength and durability. GE II Silicone can withstand temperatures from -60 degrees F to 400 degrees, so it would work as well. I'm sure there are others - just look up specific brands online for the technical data.
Lovely work. But I knew you were in trouble when you flipped over the cable spool while pressure washing it and the sprayer hit your flagstone patio....as I would have you got sidetracked into pressure washing the patio. Lovely work. Putting in the flower components of your backyard scene looked like fun.
Beautiful projects! Those bluebirds will be very lucky to surrounded by such luxury! 😊. The glass used for your flower is beautiful…wondering if you grouted it and was the substrate wood? Tfs ❤️
Thank you! 😊 Yes, I grouted it a few days later in Ep. 66. at the 5:23 minute mark: ruclips.net/video/ahe4QPANDjI/видео.html The substrate is a Better Homes and Gardens pot tray from Walmart. I thought it was ceramic when I looked at it, but later I suspect it is resin. I won't be able to put it outside.
I love the things you do. I just did my first mosaic with small tea glass. It is my first mosaic ever. The only thing is probably the spaces between the tiles are a little bit too big. So you see the black background in between the tiles a little bit too much. Is it possible to grout salty or is it too difficult because of the unevenness of the glass? I am thinking of crowding it with gray or white. I would love to show you a picture to see if it's worth the trouble of doing it
Good question! It is a terra cotta color. I wanted a warm color to act as an underpainting would, contrasting the green and showing a bit between pieces so it becomes a design element. Typically I would use black so it would recede and you wouldn't notice it as much.
Carol Zutski Beautiful work, looking forward to seeing your smati backyard piece done. You make it look so easy! How do you get each piece perfect each time?
@@mazzonimosaics8222 compared to what mine would look like, they are perfect, plus, it would probably take me a month to do what you did in a day. I actually never worked with smalti except maybe a tesserae here or there. But I bought a Roman pattern kit from Michael Kruzich, haven’t started it yet. Maybe that will be next, after I am done my zoom workshop with John Sollinger, fluid double reverse. I’m doing a praying mantis on a flower
Absolutely gorgeous pieces!!
I could watch you for hours!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I agree

I love my backyard- it’s my refuge. That what I ended up naming that mosaic. Refuge.
Gorgeous work!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Beautiful work! ❤
Thank you Dianne!
Your work is lovely .
Thank you so much!
Lazy Susan - I loved this piece especially the progression of colours 😍
Thank you so much! It's not a lazy susan though. It's a plant tray!
🤦♀️
Enjoyed the video and I must say your pieces are all beautiful, your Smalti piece is really coming alive. :)
Thank you! Hopefully I'll finish it in the next week!
Belo trabalho!👍🌻

Thanks for the terrific base! I know it will last outside. I hope you get lots of orders!
What glue is recommended for areas with snow and temperatures below 0?

Right?! It needed to be done! I hope to finish the backyard mosaic this week!

I have grouted smalti. It might take a bit more time cleaning if it is uneven.
Great progress with your smalty picture. Love watching you doing it. Why did you choose using pink thinset? In my screen I see it pink.

They are perfectly imperfect. In truth, there is plenty of thinset showing as I'm not working too tightly.

I went to a lecture he gave in Nashville but never tried fluid double reverse.
Where did you say you bought the birdhouse from?
I put a link in the description. It is an Etsy site. If they are sold out you can message the seller and see if she will make you one!
