Sitkas, masters of survival, on rainwater only if they have to. Tougher than tough, I love 'em from the first big one I felled. Nice job 4th gen. Stay safe. Peace.
@Ki113rBuD I take the screens off the muffler and make the holes a little bigger. But the porting is done on the cylinder head, i have a friend do it he does it for lots of fallers around here. You have to be careful with your trigger finger after a porting job, or you will blow up your saw!
Driving drunk on them roads up in the mountain is something I worry about. Just pulled my employee out of the ditch after work on Friday. We call him John Rambo". He continued to drink all the way down the mountain, after the first ditch. No drinking during the week, is something I worry about too. It is a hard life. I wish I had less worries. Like stuck trucks in rivers, etc... LOL
nice job man id hire you any day with those skills its we dont have trees as big in ontario but they do get to be a good size its hard to find good fellers these days
yep we limb and buck em, less these days though we have processor machines that can handle up to a 26" log. So we only buck up the ones over or that would break from other trees falling or logging.
I'd be lying if I said it'd be easy for you to come out here and do this. But not impossible! Takes years to be a faller, you would have to start out doing level entry jobs and impress the right people to get broke in falling.
Its prity dangerous man, just a cpl days ago a guy broke his neck. a few weeks before that a guy on the same crew got both his legs broke. A month before that a young faller with a family was killed, every year we lose a few.
how would one go about getting a job doing this kind of thing? for example im in scotland and have grown up around arboriculture/tree surgery/tree felling etc my whole life, and i love the forest to death, how would i go about getting a job in canada being a feller/faller, and is it possible to start out from the bottom and learn your way up? im looking at getting my chainsaw, loler, climbing tickets all sorted this year. just curious.. ;) epic videos by the way :D
This is INDEED a HOLY FUCK of BEAUTY cutting all these huge trees down! Congrats for your excellent work!!! AMAZING VIDEO. I love the sound of all these amazing chain saws together. THIS IS INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. And I fully understand you that you're loving your job, I'd love to be in your place.
@Rangerbelt gloves, especially leather gloves are no good for falling.. I wear them only when it's too cold not to.. and never leather, it's way too wet and slimy on the west coast for leather gloves.. you might as well dip your hands in grease..
Looks like pretty fair job. I'm assuming the reason your not wearing any saw gloves is because your running your camera. I am curious as to why it seems like you're trying to hit every single stump. The goal is to not hit any & keep those trees as long & damaged as possible.
Brother! This is about the last job you want to do. Try doing this shit in the rain. The Mosquitoes. The snow. The heat. The crazy loggers who always want to fight. Unemployment . Winter. Climbing. The noise. The helicopters. The bears. The drive. etc... Getting paid. Stay in school, it is everything you probably do not want to do in life.
