I am originally from India, living in California for the last almost 30 years. I grew up in Pune in the 70s. Lata and her siblings’ music flows in my arteries. Last week it felt like I lost my childhood and my youth when Lata decided to leave her body. This voice that was such an integral part of my life will stay around for millions of years to come. But I will always regret not having met her in person and hugged her and conveyed the love I have for her. ❤️
Good one. Even though I am living in India but had the same feeling of regrets of not able to meet her in person. Childhood days of 60s & 70s & listening to Lataji's songs were part of our DNA ! Will miss her definitely but the only consolation being she will still continue to rule our hearts through her songs.
Same here. In California since the last 20+ years, came here from Pune , having previously lived all over India from Cuttack, Calcutta, Mangalore, Bangalore, Mumbai, etc. Everywhere there was Lata. Always there was Lata. Since last week it has felt like losing a family member. Listening to her songs now has pain mixed with pleasure.

I am originally from India, living in California for the last almost 30 years. I grew up in Pune in the 70s. Lata and her siblings’ music flows in my arteries. Last week it felt like I lost my childhood and my youth when Lata decided to leave her body. This voice that was such an integral part of my life will stay around for millions of years to come. But I will always regret not having met her in person and hugged her and conveyed the love I have for her. ❤️
Good one. Even though I am living in India but had the same feeling of regrets of not able to meet her in person. Childhood days of 60s & 70s & listening to Lataji's songs were part of our DNA ! Will miss her definitely but the only consolation being she will still continue to rule our hearts through her songs.
Same here. In California since the last 20+ years, came here from Pune , having previously lived all over India from Cuttack, Calcutta, Mangalore, Bangalore, Mumbai, etc. Everywhere there was Lata. Always there was Lata.
Since last week it has felt like losing a family member. Listening to her songs now has pain mixed with pleasure.
