Hey you guys, Jamie and I both just subscribed to your new channel. We think this is awesome. We are so happy for you both and we fully support what you’re doing. We will be watching and will help out as soon as we can. God bless you both and merry Christmas.
Your guy doesn't incredible opening voice-over, I worked as a television broadcast engineer for almost 30 years. I have heard countless voice overs in monologues and recorded God only knows how many thousand. The general Timbre of his voice, and phrasing is worthy of Ken Burns and Peter coyote. With a very similar soothing calming demeanor to his voice. Beautiful work, keep up the good work
I grew up in this church. My grandparents did a lot of work there throughout the years. The “attic” was a nursery and each one of the basement rooms was used for Sunday School. The room at the bottom of the stairs was used for Children’s Church as well. Looking forward to watching you uncover the history on your journey.
That church is the one I went to as a young boy. My grandmother was one of its founders. The initial basement room was the adult Sunday school, the rooms further back were for kids Sunday school. I remember when they constructed the room above which was for child care, the window was there for the adults who were caring for the children to watch church service. At the time I went to church there the pastor was reverend Lee who lived in the house directly South of the Church before the classrooms were constructed between the two structures. My mother has some photos of inside the church as she, my father and my grandmother were among those on the church board. If you want to contact her she still lives in town North of the Carnegie Library, the very large brick home.
Great video! My husband grew up attending this church (I see several of his family have commented already!) and we had our wedding there in 2002. Watching this tour through the church brings back so many memories!
I’m happy to see this story and that someone is bringing the church I grew up in back to life. I started taking piano lessons in 4th grade and Pastor and Mrs. Carl Lee would let me in to practice until my parents got a piano. We had an organ at home. There was an organ on the right side of the stage and a piano down on the main floor to the right. The choir loft was on the left of the stage. I eventually was asked to play for the choir and singers and weddings with my mother, Carolyn Ehlenfeld. We would have to roll up the sides for extra seating. Our lively Sunday school classes were in the basement. The nursery was upstairs with the window overlooking the Sanctuary. It’s sad to see the condition but the beauty of the stained glass and memories live on. I married and moved and haven’t been there since the mid 70’s. Thank you for sharing your journey.
This was my mom's family's church... my grandma was on the Vestry and we were there every Sunday when visiting Ridge Farm. I totally teared up when the doors opened - so many memories! Looking forward to watching your adventure.
My wife and I started our spiritual journey, on June 22, 1969 at the altar in Revival service in this church. 6 years earlier we had been married by Rev Carl Lee at my folks home east of town. We left our home there to attend Nazarene Bible College and began our ministry in 1975. After 34 years in pastoral ministry we retired. Our old church in RidgeFarm will always hold a special place in our hearts and those who helped us in those beginning years.
I’m pretty sure my great grandpa rang that bell more than one Sunday. I grew up in this church, my mom was married here. I attended from when I was born until the doors closed.
I grew up in Ridge Farm, I'm sorry to say that this is the only Church that I was never in, I can see now what a lose it was for me. Good Luck on your Restoration and THANK YOU for bringing this Old Church back to Life
What a beautifully done video Young and NeeNee. It's great hearing the history and has been fun watching you restore the cherch. I'm looking forward to the next video.
This really is amazing! Bravo! The stained glass is gorgeous and narration with such intricate details really makes this fun to to watch! 👏💕✨✌️ Thank you.
This church was built by my husband's 5x grandfather Abraham Smith and we took a rode trip this past fall to Ridge Farm and Vermillion . Thank you for this interesting journey.
I am loving watching these videos. I grew up in the little white house to the east of this building. 104 East West Street as it was called back then. So glad someone is restoring this building.
Thank you for watching! What years did you live at that residence? You will be thrilled to know, we bought that house, and live in it, so we would be close to the church! How cool is that?! Sending this reply from the room west of the kitchen (love the big window) If you have any old photos you would like to share, please email us at americangothic1908@gmail.com. Much love, Young & NeeNee P.S. There is a story we heard about the last family that lived here..up and moved to Maui...We hope that happens to us one day..haha...
@@AmericanGothicRestoration We lived there from around1955 until 1965 when we moved to a house on West North street. It use to be a 2 story house, but it burned the upstairs and when they repaired it, they just kept the first floor that didn't have any damage. It looks a lot different today than it did when we lived there. I will look to see if I have any pictures. There was a long enclosed front porch that had tons of windows. I think that has all been enclosed now.
@@exlahainagirl we would love to see pictures of the house! You can send them to americangothic1908@gmail.com if you find any. We would like to restore it to what it was when it was built!
We have a great appreciation for your efforts. We have pictures available from our wedding in 1979 that displays the beauty of the church if desired. I love the respect you have demonstrated for the history of the building.
Love your new channel,. this video is amazing ..very well done. Thank you for all your hard work & for sharing it with us all. Much Love to you both!!💜💙❤💛💚🧡💜
Dude this is cool I know nothing about restoration but you two have great voices that keep me watching I would love you two voice in a video game As the Narrators I hope much success for your new channel congratulations you two.
This was very entertaining! Great editing, I liked the music, I liked the professional, soothing narration. It's somber yet informative; sets the right tone for this type of genre. I feel like this is something I'd watch on a Sunday afternoon on PBS. I enjoyed getting some history which we haven't been able to do much until now. The music was a great choice and meshed well with the visuals. Your editor (wink wink) is more talented than they let on, I know because its made to look easy and I've done some editing myself. My only caveat is the green screen placement at the front door entrance felt a little public-access, especially when y'all vanished. Other than that, this is a solid 9/10. And who knew you guys had a drone???

Aunt Kati. In their new video they talk briefly about grandpa at the end. ❤️

Are you married to Steven or Spencer? I grew up in Ridgefarm until my parents moved in 1968. Sherry was one of my closest friends.
Or one of their sons. After I see when you married (2002) I figure it might be one of their sons that you married. I have been away a long time.

There’s a lot of people in Ridge Farm that probably have pictures of the inside of that church. I remember going there to church functions as a child.
