  • In this video, I will compare the in-game software DSP system which available on all versions of Half-Life from the very first version (V1.0.0.5) to the latest version (25th Anniversary Update) to the EAX based hardware accelerated DSP which exists in Half-Life versions until the Steampipe update (2013). I'm using the "We've got Hostiles" chapter of the game.
    EAX feature enabled using Creative ALchemy.
    Recorded on Sound Blaster Z SE.
    Also testing NTSC-RS VHS effect.

    this when the best version of half life 1 gets played
