    These tariffs will help the local to increase prices and therefore detrimental to US consumers, not Chinese. China can divert to other countries.

      the average cost of EVs in the US down past 2-3 years without China. China can NOT divert to other countries because there isn't much EV market outside the EU/US.

      Do you mean instead cheap Chinese goods Americans should handle 10 times more expensive American products? so inflation still too low and people can deal more and more inflation? If Americans cannot produce fast just learn from scratch why must cover the truth and attack others? Is this the way to solve problem?

      And no worries. No Americans are under delusion that China is pro-consumer.

    Americans pay the tariff tax, not the Chinese. And they can sneak those products in through the US' other trading partners.

      Yes but if we don’t have a choice. China has built the largest electric car production through government subsidies and they plan on dumping those cars in America. They will run American ev makers out of business.

      @@mariajiao4855 no, the US does not subsidize nearly like China, not even close!! And if American car companies were subsidizing like China EV industry that wouldn’t be out of business. The US is doing the right thing, they have to level the playing field.

    • @tooltalk
      @tooltalk 21 день назад

      @@mariajiao4855 the US does not subsidy export. China gives export credit/rebates when they leave China's ports, so they are now flooding Europe's ports with unsold Chinese EVs.

    Tariffs on Chinese EVs are a sign that the US simply can't compete. The US government know that as soon as the US public become aware of BYD and their range of EVs . It's over for US EV manufacturers.
