What classic villain would you like to see return? Were you surprised to see Neil Patrick Harris as Celestial Toymaker? Are you excited for the Fifteenth Doctor!?
I think of the great dangling plot hooks that needs to return at some point is The Valeyard. We know that he's an amalgamation of all of The Doctors darker thoughts and is meant to exist between the Doctors 12th and final regeneration. Having The Doctor largely be their own greatest enemy sets up for an amazing story, the idea of who they are now fighting against what they could become and changing that fate is something I desperately want to see.
Yup, I realized why NPH was so familiar after I filmed this. Celestial Toymaker is an awesome throwback. Can't wait to see what they do with him! Also Neil Patrick Harris in that role is going to be amazing. I already know.
I'm super hyped (as always with a new Doctor). Been a fan since 2010 (approx.) and grew into loving the so called Classics as much as the new stuff! So, whatever it is, I'm in! 😀
Uh sadly I could never get into to Doctor who I read a star trek cross over graphic novel a couple years ago right before the pandemic happened and I just couldn't get into it not saying it was bad, I just couldn't get into it and I was reading so much stuff 😂😂 but much like every other fan of any genre of geekdom I'm in love with people that love other nerdy things and I respect the history of Doctor who so I'm happy that you're excited for the 60th anniversary of this particular project and I hope it does well and Neil Patrick Harris is always doing great work in acting with all these amazing project to be apart of on top of that he was also the flash in the late great Darwin Cookes New frontier adapted direct to video animated DC movie, Nightwing for under the Red Hood as another direct to video animated DC project from the comics as well as the music Meister for the Batman brave and the bold animated series, so I was appreciate his love for the comic book genre even though I'm the biggest fan of his I appreciate what he contributes as a voice actor in the DC realm of animated features. But nonetheless I'm excited for how excited you are for the 60th anniversary project of Doctor who ❤❤❤. And yes I'm off for a Doctor who cosplay for you Amanda along with anything else you want to cosplay as 🙏.
You should definitely watch the television series instead, dropping into a comic with "doctor who" slapped on isn't really Doctor Who. Doctor Who is a television show that has those comics for the keen fans... definitely not a good jumping on point 😂
I dunno. I think it would depend on the comic honestly. I would say I have read a few pretty good ones. I don't consider the lore of Doctor Who to be so overwhelming that you can't just jump in. I will say maybe a crossover comic isn't the best way to get introduced. But a Doctor Who crossover comic with Star Trek, as someone who is a fan of both, is still definitely something I want to read! I would also recommend, as you said, that the television series is a great place to start with this fandom. Even just the beginning of any season. Doctor Who is very serial so I think it's really easy to get pulled into any random episode you happen upon. For me that was the way of it, anyways! 😂💕
As always thank you for your thoughtful response. I appreciate the love and agree that NPH is a legend who tends to heighten any project he signs on for. I'm also pretty sure he is a fellow nerd / geek through and through. And I love that! Can't wait to see him as Toymaker in Doctor Who! Wooo!
@@DoctorWhoShorts Noted 😂😂😂🙏🙏🙏, but comics and animation since my childhood in the 90s has always been my gateway into mostly all things fictional but I definitely should start watching more of BBC's content. I use to be a mad Mr Bean TV series fan back in the day and there is also this British limited series that's basically a version of bad boys called bulletproof that I was a fan of a couple years ago.
It's really good! I would recommend. I have seen all of the modern stuff and some of the classic Doctor Who but I'm not up to date on Jodie Whittaker's Doctor. But I LOVE her as the Doctor! She is so great! Just some of the stuff with the story didn't hit as hard for me so I kinda fell off for a bit.
That's hard. I love them all for different reasons. But if I had to pick, I think I have to go with Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor, followed very closely by Jodie Whittaker's (lucky number) Thirteenth Doctor. I also really love Tom Baker and obviously David Tennant as well.
The 60th anniversary specials in November so you do have time to catch up before then! And I love Jodie too, 13 is brilliant and I love aeeing love for her! Very excited for whats coming up for this amazing show too!
My grandma got me to watch Doctor Who when I was a little kid, and this was before Eccleston came back and it wasn't big in America. So for a while I didn't know other people who were into it. To this day it's my favorite show ever. Been watching it longer than anything, even One Piece. My all time favorite Doctor is Matt Smith, but everyone who's ever been Doctor has brought something to the table. Capaldi was an underrated genius in the role, and Jodie embodied so much of the classic spirit, so I feel bad that some people fell off before they had the chance to experience them. Still, while I may not have liked the stories written for David Tennant all the time, he loves the hell out of the role and he's a phenomenal actor and I'm really excited to see the 60th. Should be brilliant!
Growing up, I always heard about Doctor Who, but I never watched one episode. Now, you have inspired me to get to know the world of Doctor Who. Thanks Amanda! 👍
Awwww what a lovely comment! I'm so glad to hear that. I really love Doctor Who. It's just such a fun - and sometimes really dark - quirky world. If or when you jump in, let me know your thoughts. I'll try to post some more Doctor Who stuff so we can all discuss more. I'm really excited about this next chapter and the return of Russell T Davies as showrunner.
The thing about Doctor Who is you can jump on at many points. Just watch the 3-ep miniseries in November and if you like it, the next season with the new Doctor. You can go back and watch earlier Doctors as you wish.
Well my fellow Fang Gangsta’s , we now know what our Vampi has in common with Dr. Sheldon Cooper …They R both Who-Bians ( Bions) …I’m excited for you Amazing 🤩 Amanda , I myself have never seen it , part of Nerd culture I didn’t get into.Hope it’s meets your expectations…Staying Nerdy 🖖🏾
I only started watching Doctor Who about 10 years ago now. I was later to the fandom. My friends all watched it when we were growing up. And I gotta say, if you ever want to dive in, for me - I was sucked into the world of Doctor Who with the holiday specials, specifically Matt Smith's Eleventh Doctor special from 2012, the Snowmen.
So it seems they have removed the "celestial" part of his name which I do kind of get given, uh, more modern sensibilities given the connotations with his chinese looking robes he wore and all.. But why is he German now? Meh, I look forward to finding out
Good question. It could just be a disguise the Toymaker is putting on, I'm thinking. Have we heard him talk yet when he has more close crop styled hair? He's a got a few different looks in this trailer. 🤔
Yup! Just getting back into the Whovian life now. If it weren't for my community knowing of my love of Doctor Who, I may have not even learned of this teaser! Even being subscribed to the Doctor Who channel on RUclips... how!? Lol Needless to say I'm late to the party but I am hyped to be here! Can't wait to celebrate the 60th!
Please never do a Donna cosplay, I've been a whovian since 1972 when I was 3. She is one of my least favourite companions just behind, Aldric and Mel and I have watched all the way since first Doctor that's available. She was too much like Catherine Tate playing a version of herself, I always saw her rather than the character. Tho I am really looking forward to DT, NPH and the specials and of course the Xmas special.
I do believe Amanda asked for comments so I am permitted to give my opinions. I wasn't attempting to control her cosplay attitudes, only an ignorant and arrogant person would in anyway think a RUclips comment has such power "I spake my opinion may all who question it be blighted with a tiny penis even the females". Amanda is fully capable of stating her opinions and we have conversed on many topics before so I don't think she needed her honour defending when it was never attacked in any form.

No I’ve heard of him being cast in DW.

Bring back the Autons, Fenric, Sil, Draconians, Meddling Monk and the Rani.
@@joshualowthion I'm all on board for a return of the Rani.
@@DannyBellTheAuthorWell, a classic villain appearing for the first time... Beep the Meep from the 4th Doctor COMICS...
Look up the celestial toy maker it’s one of the Doctors most formidable foes

Samesies! I've only seen a bit of the classic but it's also fantastic tbh. Sad that we lost so much from that era of Doctor Who. :')
The Valeyard would be great if he came back
A very good pick!
I would like to see the meddling monk return. He has been in several big finish but a return to main show would be great.

What would Donna cosplay be? I’ve not heard of this Toymaker. I’d like The Monk back. There is DW audio plays. It is made by BBC and Big Finish.
I'm thinking Runaway Bride look or something more casual - maybe her suit look or her brown leather jacket look.
