I was in Iran last november, now you don't even have to apply for the visa to go there, i'd suggest you to go to Isfahan and Shiraz besides Teheran, cheapest weed on the planet, alcohol forbidden but part of their culture since thousands of years, you can find the "Shirazi" worldwide a very popular wine, typical from the area around Shiraz, most people speak english and welcome you with the smile, girls aren't even covered and i got a wink from a persian lady at the airport... :D
