In today's video I am using a gorgeous purple mauve color for a mixed media painting. This is a 24 x 48 inch canvas so quite large, but I wanted to see what I could create. I started with a champagne color spray paint but it coagulated very quickly on the paint and was not moving well like the gold normally does. So I ended up grabbing the gold and removed as much of the champagne as I could. I just have water in the spray bottle to help move the paint. I also used white and beige. Overall this moved a lot while drying but the colors are amazing. I am definitely going to try another on in these colors and see if I can get a better result!

Tried last night with the same spray paint. What a disaster! Big snotty clumps of spray paint. What did I do wrong? I mixed everything with medium, water, airbrush medium like you did, had a spray bottle, the spray paint…… just rolled right off in clumps even when I sprayed lightly
It could be the brand of paint. I have found that my gold is working the best but other colors were clumping up.
Where do you get such a big black pad, are they cut up garbage bags?
The black plastic? It is actually a disposable table cloth.

I tried this with metallic silver (different brand), 80% of it clumped into one puddle. When I tilted it off, it would all go off together. It looked like a really really thin layer of tinfoil. Is it because my paint was too thick or was it just the brand of spray paint?
I think it might just be the pray paint. The gold and champagne that I used were both Montana Gold spray paint but the gold never clumps like the champagne did.
