    Really appreciate your review. I wore out my first copy, the pages had plenty of time on them but the leather only gets better with time, ordered another and sending the former to the church library

    This Bible is an excellent resource. I have not used a study bible in years, mainly because most notes were full of anti KJV information, and generally full of textual critical information designed to cause confusion in young believers.
    This Bible fully supports/defends the KJV, while accurately teaching the doctrines of reformed theology.
    Once I heard of this Bible, I quickly purchased a copy. I am surprised by the lack of sales. Thank you for the video Pastor.

    Have a Vachetta and love it, but I've always wanted the Dollaro. Just saw they're selling it on their website again and bought it. PTL! Everything about this Study Bible is amazing. My favorite parts are the concise notes and sharp text that's extremely readable. Goes perfectly next to a Westminster reference bible. Thanks for your video. Without it, would have never seen this. God bless brother.

      Yeah I hadn't seen any either. That's why I made sure to include it. It really breaks in nice. My wife has been using it daily since that video and it is wonderful. Probably my favorite of the 3 personally.

    I have not been a huge fan of edge lined Bibles because of the way the hinge can make the text bend more into the gutter. Paste downs and hardcovers lay more flat. The exception I have seemed to notice is some study Bibles where the page weight can force the hinge down. Have you noticed a significant difference in how flat the goatskin lays compared to the others?

    • @DaneKristjan
      @DaneKristjan  11 месяцев назад +1

      I heartily agree. It seems due to the weight of the book block on this one that the goatskin lays just as flat as the past-down editions (although I still prefer the past downs).

    • @danvacco493
      @danvacco493 11 месяцев назад

      Is the due to the sturdiness you mention?

    • @danvacco493
      @danvacco493 10 месяцев назад

      Just received the goatskin. Quick question: The art gilting on mine is a bit spotty and bleeds onto the page a bit, making the edge of the paper look a bit ragged. Also, if you look at the pages with the book closed, they look striped and uneven. If you run your finger down them, they are uneven like they weren't sewn in evenly. I haven't seen this with a jongbloed Bible before. Have you seen this? Especially the uneven art guilting that comes onto the page?

    Great review! Which would you recommend, the vachetta, the calf-split, or the premium hard cover, price not being a factor?

    • @DaneKristjan
      @DaneKristjan  4 года назад

      Gary Thomas if you're going for the quality of leather/luxurious feel, Calfskin. But if you want something that will not show nicks and scratches as much and still be nice (utilitarian), get the black calfsplit. It looks mixed, feels great, is cheaper and holds up better to being banged up.

    Hi Dane, thanks for your video. Just after 1:55 into the video you mentioned the Goatskin has a better type of paper than the others. Do you know if the leather versions have a better type of paper than the hardback edition?
    I ask because i have the hardback version, and i'm paranoid that i'm going to damage the very thin paper it has every time i use it. I assume they are the same, however do you ever feel like the paper in your goatskin may crinkle/ruin when closing the book or turning pages?
    Kind Regards,
    Kurtis.

    • @DaneKristjan
      @DaneKristjan  3 года назад +1

      I think the goatskin has the same paper, it just feels nicer with the art gilding weighing it down a bit. I think all the Jongbloed binding (including the hardcovers) have the same paper, thin but sturdy.

    1 Timothy 2:3-6 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
    1 Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.”
    1 John 2:2 “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
    1 John 4:14 “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.”
    Hebrews 2:9 “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”
    Romans 5:15-18 “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.” (emphasis added)

      All... all the elect. If God wanted all human beings to be saved, they would be. The Apostle Paul said that "all Israel shall be saved" (Rom. 11:26). Did he mean the entire Hebrew race (all Jews)? Obviously not; but if we define Israel as the people of God, then we see the elect as the chosen of God, perfectly marked out for salvation from the foundation of the world.
      If we believe the Arminian view, then the death of Jesus only has potential power. The sound biblical truth is that the power of the cross is absolute! "The preaching of the cross is to those who are perishing foolishness, but to us who are saved, it is the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:18
