The chaos in the prisons (if you could even call them that as they were torture and execution centres) and the agony of the families is really sad but also can lead to loss of documents and evidence needed to prosecute the regime. The documents must be preserved and we must be wary of the civil servants that have been probably complicit with the regime to hide evidence of torture and mass executions!
The "bombing for security reasons ' is a worry to me about documents. I fear important documents are being DESTROYED in those bombings. You understand?

What’s becoming so obvious to people now is that colonialism never ended....it just got rebranded with different terms. From Indigenous Peoples being called “savages” in the old days, to now being called “terrorists. From neocolonialists to zionists, the playbook stays the same. 1) Savages is now “terrorist” 2) Civilizing them is now “bringing them democracy” 3) Colonies is now “territories” We can all see Israel is a settler colonial project, being supported by former and current colonials (such as the US & UK) who control territories of indigenous natives in Caribbean Islands, Pacific Islands, Hawaii, etc. The liberation of Palestine will definitely give RISE to many indigenous natives around the world to free themselves from western domination. This is the underlying ripple effect that the American government and its possey don’t want to happen.
So what if Israel is a settler colonial project? It's still the best country in the Middle East. Israel is a Westernized democracy with a high standard of living. Look at the rest of the Middle East -- failed states, terrorist gangs, dictatorships, and third world conditions. Israel is proof that Europeans create the best countries.
Maybe when talking about political parties being non-existent in Syria you could look at the situation in NE Syria. According to the figures from 2016, there were over 20 major political parties and a similar number of smaller ones. There have possibly some changes since then - mergers, splits, disbanding and new creations. I wonder how many political parties existed in Idlib under HTS control ?
