Yeah and I heard he worked on AC6 cause if I recall he wasn’t part of the mecha design team for 5 and Verdict Day. That starter AC in Rubicon just screams Kawamori.
It always blows me away how much detail Kotobukiya puts into their kits from obscure titles despite how small the audiences are for them. It looks fantastic! :D
It also transforms from tank to robot, yeah seeing the movie GUNHEAD showed some good special effects, learning it was a story morphed from a Godzilla movie concept of the King of the Monsters vs. a super computer, Rossum.
A very fresh kit! I usually don't care very much for armor themed models, but this utilitarian yet sifi look is very interesting, and the amount of details in the mold is very appealing for an easy and flattering detailing ! (I"m not yet into full painting, but highlighting details is my jam!!) Although, not sure for this movie... 🤣
Metal Core 7 : Fires of the Patriots. Great review BTW. I cant remember the film to well, but if memory serves the objective was that they needed to get the gunhed out for extraction... so the film was basically them navigating the ancient weapon through the old rundown facility. Don't quote me though.
Toho had a contest where they had fans write in movie scripts for a Godzilla film, the winner would be made into a movie. GunHed was such a script, it lost to Godzilla vs Biollante. Toho enjoyed it so much though that they cut Godzilla out passing it down to a subsidiary and made it its own movie hoping to make a mecha franchise out of it. Sadly it didn't do so good and only really ever been a cult niche hit since.
GUNHED:Movie Trailer ruclips.net/video/ntVHnjUUQKI/видео.htmlsi=RqwBelY0YnUtRnJd Released nearly 40 years ago, the film was produced by a coalition of Japan's leading subculture companies at the time, including Japan's leading film company, Sunrise, which produces the Gundam anime, and Bandai, well known for its Gunpla models. Unfortunately, the movie was not a big hit and resulted in a huge loss. However, there are still many otaku who were captivated by the GUNHED machine, and this time KOTOBUKIYA was able to release the kit.
The Armored Core comparison is actually pretty on point, because Kawamori designed Gunhed

@@BLAZE084 haven't played AC6 yet, but I saw his name in the credits. Thought I don't know which AC he designed
@@BLAZE084he designed the White Glint in Armored Core 4 for Answer. don't know if he contributed in ACVI though.

Imo they didn't lose out to Bandai in terms of surface detail, only inner details such as cockpit gimmick, moveable armor, etc.
It also transforms from tank to robot, yeah seeing the movie GUNHEAD showed some good special effects, learning it was a story morphed from a Godzilla movie concept of the King of the Monsters vs. a super computer, Rossum.
I cant wait to see how it turns out after you paint it and such! It looks badass just as is!
Kit looks amazing by the way it went together it's very much the same as the original mg kit which was not great but still got to love it
FINALLY!!! A weapon to surpass metal gear! MAJOR I'M BURNING UP!!!!
*breathes deep* copulating wolbachia
Brah finally man the model kit is beautiful.
This thing always reminded me of Metal Slug for some reason.
Looks really cool. Thinking of getting one for myself.

"SUSHI SLOOPER" - famous quote from the Gunhed movie. 🍣🥢
I skimmed through the movie a bit and happened to catch that line! 😆
Gunhed is legend

I just looked up the Gunhed anime! Bout to watch it, looks promising!

Interesting! 👍
Nice job. Very nice kit.❤😂
Oh man, you said armored core, now you gotta do an armored core kit review
Jk but fr id like to see more of those
I'm waiting on edge for Kotobukiya to release more information on Rubicon kits
Holy hell. Haven't heard about Gunhead in 20 fucking years. The movie itself didn't make any sense, but the Gunhed unit is awesome.
never thought they made this kit
Kawamori designed this, so the Armored Core comparison is valid. lol
Oh nice!
While the design in its entirety is not my cup of tea, it did inspire me with tank transformation ideas.

I built i years ago but recently dismantled it for parts. Still deciding on which kit to put them on.
I was wondering what's with the name "Gunhed," until I saw it literally had a huge a** gun for a head. 😂
😎👍🏼
Aight koto when are you reprinting your old AC kits
One of expensive kit of kotobukiya
Oh also, are you going to paint it "anime accurate" or you going to do more of a " real world-self inspired" motif?!
Something different from the “official” colors. But not sure yet
For anyone with disposable income (is that still a thing these days? >_
Look like Cataphract from Armored Core 6 lol
Ain’t no way you got this review up less than a day after I bought mine
