I have several things to say to you, all of them good! :) Helping my 14 y.o. son use his rustler vxl at a local indoor track. Got him his first tool box with some tools & gear. Little by little, it's getting expensive, lol. Anyway, noticed when watching him race, the car needs to ride a little lower. YOU have the best video for doing this using what I already have on hand. You explain exactly what everything is (traveler limiters, etc.)...you have good visuals so I can see what you're doing...and you have this relaxing and calm voice that I could listen to all day. Thank you my good man for taking the time to post this & help guys like me out. I am subscribed! BTW, when you get some time, visit my channel & watch an old bastard (who used to tour full time for about a decade many moons ago) play some drum covers. And turn it up! :) Thanks again.
I'm glad my video was informative & helpful to you and your son. Thank you for the positive comments! I have a eBay account as well "Givnbumzwrk" selling rc car parts. If you get a chance, check it. I'll check out your RUclips videos as well & SUB you too. Have a blessed day!
Bro, thanks for taking the time to make this video. I just got my first traxxas today, rustler 2wd. I saw this bag full of shock adjustment parts & was a bit overwhelmed lol. The only thing that I knew how to use were the spring spacers! 😆 All I knew was that I had to lower my car & stiffen up the suspension a bit since I will be running it mostly on flat pavement. I don't want it rolling over on turns. Hopefully this will help!
You're welcome homie. Lowering your rustler will help with turning sharper and not flipping it if the speed isn't too high. They are fun to drive & work on. Good luck!
just a little tip next time you use the needle nose on the shock shaft wrap a rag around the shaft, you dont want to nick up the shaft or it will take out the seals. thanks for the tip on lowering!
Super helpful video man, I got a VXL rustler I am setting up for speed runs and didn't know how to lower it. This was a perfect video showing the steps! Thanks for taking the time to make it!
You're welcome bro. I am passing on the knowledgethat I didn't have, people shared with me & what I learned from wrecking lol. Good luck and keep me informed!
I just did the mod, man it makes it look so cool. I put on some street tires and with the lowered stance it looks mean! I also did the 12mm to 17mm hex adapters which added about an inch of stance, so that and the lowering make it look awesome.
Thank you for making the video I'm definitely going to do this. Also can you do a walk around and show us what it looks like after you lowered it. I've been actually sitting on the ground to see what it looks like
Apologize for lack of terminology but could you put a spacer in between the retainer that holds the spring in place and the piece you unscrewed with the pliers that the screw actually goes threw to hold it to the truck? p.s im new to rc
Yes, but you`ll probably loose some while working, and you shouldn`t mix old and new oil, and don`t mix different viscosities either, so get some oil and have it on hand, you don`t want big bubbles in your shocks :)
Thanks my RC brother....I was wondering how to lower the suspension! All my stuff is falling into place nicely! My rustler is gun a scream when I'm done...Thanks again
I USE SMALL PIECES OF FUEL TUBING ON THE INSIDE OF THE SHOCK IT GIVES THE SHOCK A CUSHIN SO IT WONT BOTTOM OUT TO HARD.I HAVENT USED MY RUSTLER IN 5 OR 6 YEARS, IM INTO THE ARRMA TRUCKS AND CARS 6S TO BE SURE, OR 12 S.

dalepete71 or masking tape on the tips of the needle nose.
This can also be done using fuel line from gas rc cars, you can cut it as long or short as you need.It works great.
skip drummer facts

Thx bro for the credit/shout out. I'm just trying to give some insight to help others enjoy the RC World.
Hey where did you get that stand for you rustler? Also what's it called?
I ordered it off of ebay. I paid like $15 for it. Your local hobby shops should carry them.

Yes, those are stock shocks. Thks for watching bro.
Yes they are, stock shocks on a rustler aren’t that bad for what this guy is doing.

I’ve used zip ties before
