To update you guys on where I am now in my PPL training, I am currently doing my last two review flights then taking an end of course test for the class and then my check ride. If everything goes well, I should have it in about a week and some change!
How do professional pilots find contract work? Is it all based on your net work? Or is there a central repository where people list their type ratings and then you contact them?
There are several big staffing services that help with this. But mostly you make friends with people in your industry that fly your plane and we exchange services. There is also Facebook groups for each airplane that people post opportunities.
Our lives are very happy with our profession. We're home more than most fathers in a given week, they also have the opportunity to travel with us. That's a great question. Thank you for asking.
