Tell Hanna to try IKEA or the candy store in Liberty Market. Maybe also one of the candy stores in Old Town, although I think they mostly have Mexican candy. World Market usually has a bunch of imported sweets and other things, too. There’s one near UCSD.
In Hanna's defense, I don't think Vegemite adds much to buttered bread, either. OTOH, I love Vegemite. My fav is to spread it generously on cheese (Havarti is the best, IMO) on bread. And while Vegemite is generally best paired with a fat (butter, cheese, avo, etc.), I also side with Lauren Jackson in that I'm not opposed to just having some right out of the jar. And, amazingly, I'm not an Aussie (...well, maybe in spirit).
