Man I am getting flashbacks to when I was a little punk kid skateboarding just by seeing all these decks you're talking about. As a kid I always loved art and admired all the designs I would see on skateboards. It is actually part of the reason I got into graphic design. Man I haven't heard tech decks in years I also agree #2 win would be getting a design you made applied to a tech deck. Brandon's first board design looked like he has been doing skateboards for years. You guys just need to get another building for a museum of all the skateboards y'all made Lol. Also you need to make a Lincoln Design Co Pendant like Plan B. That would be so legit. I find it so cool all of these stories behind each one of these boards you guys went over. I can't wait to hear more in the future from the rest of your team. It seriously made me laugh and smile just hearing everything you guys talked about. You guys should pull a Chris Do and make a kickstarter for that skateboard illustration book. I would 100000000% back that book. How many skateboard decks do you all typically do in a year on average and how long do you typically spend on a concept? Gah I think this is the best episode yet! Keep crushing it guys!🤘
I think the Calavera was my favorite. Also love any of the old Hawk decks -- brings back memories! Never did I think that some of my favorite decks would get featured on this video, much less be designed by the guys I get to work alongside now on this channel!
Stoked to hear Ben Horton mentioned. I always thought some of the Lincoln illustration style was such a natural progression on how Horton drew so its cool to hear that I wasn't totally off.
These vids you guys are putting out are fantastic and so insightful. Absolutely loving them and always excited when the new vids drop. Lincoln is hands down my favourite design studio of all time and it's so interesting hearing about your processes and stories behind some of these briefs. I'm a designer/illustrator (tombunney.com) based not too far from you up in Vancouver BC and work with a bunch of mountain biking brands so I love hearing all about these skate designs and seeing how you tackle the briefs from a similar but also completely different industry. Hopefully when the borders open up I can cruise down one day and pop in to say hello. Cheers!
...just wow! All those boards you’ve done. It’s mind blowing. Seen so many of those in so many skate shops over the years. Keep up the great work guys. You’ve set the bar!
Love this episode! Growing up to skateboarding and being amaze to deck graphics to the point you dont want to skate the board coz of the limited supply here on our country back in the days. But now its all over the place and we could also print it now. Lovin to know about the transfer process aside from silkscreen or direct printing to the deck. Love all the graphics you guys have done to the decks I think you need to do another episode for this. Cant wait for the next episode will be putting the show on loop for motivation. Cheers LDCO from cebu philippines!
just discovered this video and channel and i am blown away! i had no idea you guys created all these graphics i used to obsess over as a kid in the skate catalogues and online! you are so talented, thanks so much! serious nostalgia
Have you guys ever run into any legal issues with the parody designs? I know the client is probably responsible for what they put out, but curious if you ever experienced any scenarios where anyone got into some hot water for doing a parody design. P.S. Fire episode! Stoked on these videos you're doing.
I love Lincoln design co!! In a nutshell.... I was just wondering what one of you would charge for 1 board illustration or a logo for someone? That question keeps coming up in design school & it seems like nobody knows... Thank you in advance
I visited your site. There's no boards avail to buy. Yall make some sick boards, but don't sell them? I don't understand the process. All I see is non-skateboard merch for sale. Very confused.
Hi! We do sell boards but its typically while we are out at events. For example, we are selling some Lincoln decks this weekend at Designer Con. The board designs we show in this video were done for various skate companies / skaters. Will pass this feedback to the team Justin! Hope this clears that up and thanks for your comment.
There are 2 boards on the website right now! Just bought one of them so definitely are there. Also there is a Black Friday thing going on if you use code "25" you can save some money.
Just Fucking gooood !!!! i have seen almost every board since you were in Soupgraphix and split in two studios !!!!! i still have the soup book and anyone who wants to see the Tony Hawk deck process here you have it vimeo.com/31567279
As a skate rat and now working as a creative, this hit home. Nice work fellas, crazy to see so many icons boards done by you guys.
This is my new favorite RUclips channel.
Thank you so much for watching Gary!

In a typical year, 200-300 boards. But things have slowed down so these days, 60 or so per year. Thanks for watching and commenting Justin!
@@LincolnDesignCo Wow thats insane! Thank you for sharing!

This is soooo great to hear about the design stories behind some of your board designs. Those Lichtenstein and Zero boards are money! 💸🧨💸

WHERE can i get decks made? anyone? awesome video, super informative and full of history man love y'all.
This was too good. I put this on while I was doing an art working favour for a buddy... nothing got done.

No real legal issues. Just a cease and desist to the skate company, but not to us. Love that you are stoked with the videos!
Awesome. Commenting to help with the algorithm.
