Jim talking about classic wrestling always fascinates me.
Yes! #1 reason why I listen, to learn about past and especially territories.
Have a good rest of your 2023!
The Saga continues!! Tony the Kid would wet his pants with these kinds of numbers... On Spot Shows for the Gods'sake!!!!
@@Jbobloochjr3you said it brother!!!
The kinda shit u can find yourself in a cabin with no tv passing the time with and some brews and blunts
@@tobiasfarragut292 I'm in a cabin with a radio in North Wisconsin...
I fall asleep to Cornette's stories every night!! "Stories of a Legend"
Young Jim Cornette. Paying his dues and mastering his craft.
Next Corny t-shirt "and I got eliminated in the Battle Royal"
I learned more about the wrestling business in 30 minutes listening to Jim. Than 100s of hours of watching wrestling channels that go over match and angles.
I love listening to these stories thinking how different life was in those days
This all sounds very familiar. I think I have heard this before, but I am not entirely sure.
I want to say this was posted a month ago
Thank goodness. I thought I was going insane(r). I have definitely heard this before
Wow, Cornette actually referenced the black hole of a town I live in, Springfield TN! 40 yrs later and it still sucks, lol...
Classic Wrestling & Corny = perfect day! 💯
See, The young bucks and Kenny omega and Dave Meltzer are all wrong, Jim's not the devil, he just managed him.
That's because Corny knew how to work!!! All the Cuckamunga Kids know how to do is tricks on their trampoline!!!
Piss off
I wish I had thought of breaking up rightful pay and calling the second payment a "bonus".
lol Forrest City Arkansas 😂
That town has two interesting facts about it. Nathan Bedford Forrest (Man who created the KKK) was from there.
They also have a Federal prison complex, from Medium security to Low.. don’t ask how I know 😊
I know cm punk gets the views but this is the real shit
AEW fans have no clue what he is talking about here
The devil is Steven Segal
Who's the devil in the back?
Lucifer
Bruce
Talking about his full rookie year is truly interesting for me to listen to, never gets old whatsoever. 😊
I enjoy when Jim Cornette takes us back in time I’ve been blessed and cursed to see all from 1980-Now
That's what the experience is supposed to be but in the last 3 years they've gained the reddit audience which is both squaredcircle and scjerk which is why most of the time they're talking about AEW non stop.
Can we have a shirt that says “I GOT ELIMINATED IN THE BATTLE ROYAL”
I think Bruce and Conrad trademarked it already. When Bruce talked about his time in Houston.
He was eliminated from the Royal Rumble more times than Mick Foley
Add me to the list of those who absolutely would buy a "...and I got eliminated in the Battle Royal" t-shirt.
Even as the lowest paid guy on the roster, Jim was making the equivalent of almost a thousand a week. He has said he got about $300 a week which is around $900 now.
A homesteader could have easily made a living off of wrestling in a short trip territory, if they get a car with good gas mileage, and didn't spend a lot partying,
For sure. Most inflation calcs don't include anything other than goods and services... And that means things like housing and rent aren't included. ...
@@chuckles9767 The side effect of Vince killing off other professional companies, now all you've got is outlaws.
@@chuckles9767 And now no one can take any sort of professional startup seriously unless they're tony khan born into billions.
@@rahowherox1177 It put the short trip territory, They're most likely not staying in hotels that often and would be living from home. So it's no different than if they have any other job. Health insurance would be the only major expense that would be in a different than if they were working a normal job
@@chuckles9767I remember one time recently when he brought up indie wrestlers sleeping in cars, he was more confused about why they didn't get a part time job in addition to training and working shows that are weekly or less often even. He brought up the non-WWE contracted guys in OVW who didn't make enough to live on, but they had part time jobs waiting tables at Chili's or whatever. And OVW was running way more shows than your standard indie does these days
One thing I learned is Jim is bad in battle royals
More talk about 70s, 80s wrestling less talk about modern wrestling please.
22:56 springfield tn? did krusty wrestle the bumble bee man?
"Jimmy Hart can't be in every town at once." Junior's WWF would have tried to convince people, set up their jumbo tron and broadcast prerecorded messages for the baby faces to respond to.
You gotta respect jim.. He has earned his stripes in the wrestling game.
Is that Devil Steven Seagull fatly rising from the flames?
It does look like him
I say, I wonder what Mr Cornette singles w/l record is?
Still don’t understand how a tag team with both Lucifer AND the Prince of Darkness being managed by Cornette would ever lose
October 1983 - the month I was born. He was in Evansville, IN the night I was born and he was not in a battle royal that night. Very interesting stuff. Always cool to learn about what was going on the day I was born which was also the day Grand Wizard Ernie Roth passed away.
Man that's sad in a way. Being born on the same day when Ernie Roth passed.
Jim was also in my hometown of Little Rock, four days before my birthday in 1987. 😂
I can listen to Cornette talk classic 80's wrestling all day it's never boring
....and then I was eliminated in a Battle Royale...
"...and I got eliminated in a Battle Royal!"
It's so fascinating hearing how things were booked and what life in the territories was back then.
a totally different wrestling landscape
seems to be missing the September 1983 clip
Lol "and i got eliminated in a battle royal" should be the next corny t shirt
“…..and I got eliminated in a battle royal.”
I was born & raised in northeast Mississippi, and am very familiar with some of the towns he mentions. outside of Corinth, Tupelo, maybe Booneville: anywhere he mentions a full gym or whatever you're just about guaranteed that the number of people in the building is at least half of the town's population & in some towns it's more bc of how the county high schools consolidated kids from several towns in the area. Ie: Tishomingo & Itawamba County high schools served kids from 4 towns a piece along with several unincorporated communities. Thus the gyms & particularly the football field literally had more capacity than several area towns had ppl. Fwiw 😂
