Hubbard Street names Aszure Barton next Resident Artist

We are elated to share that Aszure Barton (BUSK, Untouched, I at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago) has been named Resident Artist for the next three Seasons, embarking upon a process-based period of collaboration, creation, and mutual growth with the Company.
As Hubbard Street's Resident Artist, Barton will have dedicated time to create and choreograph on the Hubbard Street Dancers, restaging existing works and collaborating on entirely new pieces over the next three years. Both HSDC and Barton are committed to exploring a new kind of relationship; not one artist working under parameters set by an institution, but rather an open, flexible, and generative space with room for experimentation and humanity.
Experience Aszure Barton's BUSK at Spring Series: Elements, March 23 - April 2 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and on tour next month in a city near you!
