I'm trying to do homeschooling and my fx-83GT is driving me mad. If I do some simple maths it give me gibberish. For example: 6 - 4.55 and press = it says 29/20 ??????? I realise 29/20 is the same as 1.45 but why give such a weird answer????
The Casio calculators mostly give answers as fractions. There should be a button in the 5th column in the top half of buttons that says SD it stands for Standard Fraction to Decimal. If you press this after they give e.g 29/20 it will appear as 1.45
i think you made a mistake, in frame 1:49-50.👈👺 were you pressed the left shift button. i am hopeless at maths. but i have a version of the fx-83gtx without the solar panel on it like yours. i did the same input as you did, but kept getting a syntax error. so i did the same input using the down shift button and got the same answer as you have. now i will try explore the world of math, thank you for that mistake sir.👈👽
A million buttons and functions but nothing whatsoever by way of instructions included. Better off with a budget calculator that comes with some instructions. I am a senior engineer and I find this unforgivable

press the sd button (just above DEL) and it will convert to a decimal
Mine doesn’t. Why can’t it just be set to show decimals as a rule?

That's not the problem. Colour would never be a difference. You have the FX-83GTX the 85 has one

The fx83gtx doesn't have a solar panel because it's 83 he was using fx85gtx starting from 85gt plus they have solar panels
