Hi Mary Jo Sowd. Ever since I started watching sermons from the UPCI church ministers I have learned so much Bible truths. One important thing I've learned is that if you want to move God to work in our lives concerns is to PRAY until you hear from God. You literally hear from Him. That will initially mean pray in the early morning, pray in the afternoon, pray before you go to bed. Pray instead of watching TV, pray before banquet and feast outings. Get to be like Jesus Christ. I've learned that popcorn prayers don't move God. Once you've built a STRONG I know how to pray through to the throne room prayer life then God will answer your prayers. He will save your children. I am not a member of this organization I am from another Apostolic organization but I have visited them in 2020 and Lord's will I will be there in July. I have been immensely blessed by the teachings of this organization. God bless your endeavors to save your family.
@@rarroyo1983 I agree with that. However, shouting “God can do anything” over and over again followed by anecdotes is not preaching. Btw, I don’t disagree with that statement. I believe in God’s omnipotence. But apostolic preachers must do better to properly exegete and exposit the Word for the hearers and present the Gospel for the unbeliever in every sermon. Not simply shout and stir up emotions. The preached word is indeed foolishness to the world but that does not mean Bible teachers ought to be lax in their presentation and exaltation of it - which I believe occurred here. A text was read and it was not expounded upon. What does the raising of Jairus’ daughter mean? Why is it significant? And how does it fit into the redemption message that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Preach the text, not what people want to hear - getting blessing, miracles, etc according to each individual’s will. The preached word IS Christ. Preach Christ. 2 Timothy 2:15 Perhaps my original comment came off some type of way (not my intention). And again, I believe we need to do better. Thanks for responding.
Maybe you should pray and ask God if this was of God or not? Not make ppl feel bad for doing what they felt was their best for the Lord. And if you feel it wasn't fit for you, pray that God helps the minister and you. Lord bless❤️
@@tracie1254 Should we not hold accountable those that minister God’s word? One of the ways we do that is by assessing the preaching. Critically thinking about that which was preached. Consider the Bereans in Acts 17 - upon receiving the word (eagerly) they examined it to make sure what Paul and Silas were teaching was, in fact, truth. That is what I did. I intently listened to this brother’s message and examined it. There were some statements rooted in truth (that I agree with) but that’s all it was - repetitive statements in an elevated voice without explanation of the text in order to increase the hearers’ understanding, faith, etc. It also seemed like the message was all about us getting blessed, miracles, our needs taken care of. The preached word was made about what we instead of centering around The Word - Christ. Who wouldn’t rally and shout when they hear what want to? Who doesn’t want to be blessed? Who doesn’t want a miracle? Yes, God can certainly do anything and that is evidenced in the text Bro Smith read but what does it mean? I do agree with you, that we must pray for those that minister the word, considering that those that take on that role will receive a stricter judgement (James 3:1) and for our own understanding of the Holy Scriptures. I strive for greater each and every day in my study and application of God’s word. And I agree we must pray and ask God concerning the things that are taught, preached, etc. However, action on our part is required as well. We must test all things, not seeking to downgrade the preached word but carefully examine it (1 Thessalonians 5:21). I am not out on a mission to “make ppl feel bad”. My responses are made out of love and a desire to see others mature in their presentation of the Gospel - if they are called to that role of ministering in a pulpit capacity. But it seems you missed my point, as indicated by your response to me. I do appreciate the response though. I encourage you to try and listen to this sermon again from my point of view. Peace and blessings in Jesus’ name.

It’s obvious to me that you don’t know David Smith....this man has seen more ppl on accident receive the HG than 100 ppl on purpose.....
